My own little thread on the Carolina Panthers/NFL Thread

He couldn't stop the run option in College - He ain't going to be able to do it in the pros.
Good hire if you are an anyone but Dallas fan.

Meh ... Kiffen the Elder is slightly more sane than the idiot Ryan brother he's replacing, but he's older than dirt at this point. It's Dallas so I really don't care, but to me their problems start with their owner thinking he's a legit GM as well.

That was a big win in San Fransisco yesterday. First time all season that they beat a legit team ... and on the road.

Christian Ponder dude ... remember that I'm an ACC honk.

Then you haven't seen us play that much. Ponder is not the problem--heck, he almost single-handedly won our game against the Redskins with the two plays below before he got hurt on Thursday night--but it's been our horrific performance on defense.

Oh ... it's not like he's bad or anything. Ponder will always have good numbers and move the ball. And then pow, right there ... a Christian Ponder decision happens. Seen it a hundred times.

And clearly, nobody wins in the NFL with a crappy defense. It's written in stone somewhere. In Bill Parcells' handwriting.

how about those Panthers??? Way to show up on MNF!!! .... the end non penalty?? meh....like Colin Herd said today......"for the Pats to blame the refs on this loss is like blaming the IRS on your low income tax return". :) awesome game!

They've at least gotten to the point where they can gut out a close win against a quality opponent. That's a huge step forward over the lkast couple of season when all they did was find new and increasingly interesting ways to blow close games.

8 straight wins! who da thunk it. Love the Panthers.....Love Cam Newton but I really can't stand the show boating. Just saying. He can do it when he has a SuperBowl ring.

Meh ... I think the complaints about show boating are pretty overblown given the nonsense that goes on every week on every NFL field. Cam's no bigger a show pony that 20 other guys ... including Steve Smith on his own team.

I like that in the process of dialing down the offense, it's actually gotten more efficient. Weird, but that's the NFL way ...

Unfortunately, it's all starting to look moot. Seattle looks pretty darned invincible at home. Still, assuming there's no meltdown, nice to be back in the playoffs.

Sure. Getting ot the playoffs at all has GOT to be seen as a huge success for this year's Panthers. Anything past that is gravy.
