OT: American Politics

It would interesting to map which states the CBO assumes will waive Obamacare Medicade provisions to the sides of a civil war fought 160 years ago.

Remarks by President Donald Tusk after meeting with President Donald Trump

During my meeting with President Trump, we discussed foreign policy, security, climate and trade relations.

My feeling is that we agreed on many areas. First and foremost, on counterterrorism, and I am sure that I do not have to explain why. But some issues remain open, like climate and trade. And I am not 100 per cent sure that we can say today -we meaning Mr. President Trump and myself- that we have a common opinion about Russia, although when it comes to the conflict in Ukraine, it seems that we were on the same line.

However, my main message to President Trump was that what gives our cooperation and friendship its deepest meaning are fundamental Western values, like freedom, human rights and respect for human dignity.

The greatest task today is the consolidation of the whole free world around those values, and not just interests.

Values and principles first - this is what we, Europe and America, should be saying.

How people are not more concerned about this but created pages of shit about trump leaking Israeli Intel is mind boggling.

heh. the military man who has pooh-poohed trump's insane disdain for confidentiality of military secrets is now pretending to outraged about a very specific leak that he's trying to pretend isn't a symptom of the cluster **** faux leadership in the white house.

lmao. I need to see footage of this handshake.

I was just as pissed as everyone else when trump discussed top secret Israeli intel with the Russian ambassador. I didn't pooh pooh anything. I said right when it happened that it was a very serious incident that will lead to Americas allies being far more hesitant to share their intel with the americans.

But I'm not pretending that this is serious. It's very goddamn serious.

British police investigating the Manchester bomb attack on Monday that left 22 people dead have stopped sharing information with U.S. authorities after a series of leaks to American media.
U.K. officials were reportedly angered on Wednesday night after The New York Times published images from the scene of the bombing carried out by Islamic State militant group (ISIS). They showed remnants of the explosive device, the backpack and a detonator used by 22-year-old British national Salman Abedi at the exit of the Manchester Arena shortly after an Ariana Grande concert ended.

The BBC reported that Greater Manchester Police, the regional force overseeing the investigation, is “furious” with the Americans.

The New York Times report followed a series of leaks pertaining to the Manchester investigation that were traced back to U.S. sources. American media first reported the initial death toll after the blast, citing U.S. officials, then the method of the attack and finally the identity of the bomber, before British officials wished to release the information. The reports citing the name and death toll later proved to be true.

The Brits are no longer sharing intel with the Americans.

Due to those in the intelligence and security community feeling that it's ok to leak anything and everything these days, whether its trump related or not, internationally, it's not longer considered safe to share sensitive intel with the USA.

And the only way as of now to fix these leaks may be a systematic teardown/lockdown of the American security apparatus in order to flush out those doing the leaking, and as such, leave America vulnerable.

And who does this serve? Those who want to do harm to the US. Those who want to undermine the American security system. Those who want America to spend more time and resources looking for traitors within their system than enemies outside it. Guys like Putin.

That's who's being helped by all of this. Guys like Putin. People who are leaking everything in order to take down Trump are playing into the hands of those wanting to hurt the USA. The people who are trying to take down trump by leaking everything are going to remove the US from the list is safe intelligence partners and put it in the compromised category. The people trying to take down Trump are going to hand Americas enemies a giant opening when the security services in the USA get torn down trying to get this shit to stop.

You're so hyper partisan that this is all acceptable to you. It doesn't matter that the USA is no longer considered a trustworthy partner internationally as long as people in the American intel community continue to leak sensitive information that can hurt him politically. Well, I hope it's worth it.

oh yeah your rage was definitely clear.

oh yeah your rage was definitely clear.

Lets be clear.

I didn't rage then.

I'm not raging now.

I said it was very bad then.

I'm saying it's very bad now.

The difference here is that everyone here agreed that Trump sharing sensitive Israeli intel with the Russians was very bad then, but very few seem to care that these anti trump leakers in the intelligence community are leaking sensitive intel about a ongoing British terror investigation now.

Pages of how much harm Trump is doing to the American intelligence/security system was generated then.

Two or three responses about how much harm the anti Trump operatives inside the intelligence community are doing to the American security apparatus with their leaks now.

I'm fairly consistent in all of this. It's the people like you who would rather see America and it's institutions burn to the ground if it means getting rid of trump who are clearly exhibiting faux outrage.

It's only bad when Trump does it.

Like I said, I hope it's worth it.

In case you missed that point. You didn't respond to it. You know, the part where a major US ally has come to the conclusion that it's no longer safe to share sensitive intel with the USA.

But ya, lets focus on my rage.
