OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

Rumple when you thinking of taking a crack at the new Raid? And thud far what are your thoughts on TTK?

I wanted to take a go at it yesterday, but couldn't seem to drum up the interest.

Big fan of TTK, honestly I'm a giant sucker for quests. Chasing them all down has been a blast so far.

Yeah I missed out on doing it when it originally dropped at 10 am as well. Just hadn't gotten might light level up adequately yet. (Learned a little late that your light level at the time of emblem decryption plays a role in what it'll turn into)

Joined a great group from /r/blindraids on reddit tho today, and we're in hour 3 of doing it completely blind/fresh. So far it's even better than the Vault of Glass, which was my all time favorite gaming boss fight, prior to playing this.

Im with you on the the story & quests too, they're great. Overall Bungie really hit it out of the park with this expansion pack.

I've been raiding with this group all weekend now, we're at the Oryx fight.....this Raid is fvckdiculously good. A++

Got zhalo supercell to drop the other day, it's amaze balls. Exotic Arc burn primary auto rifle, some serious crowd control

Niiice; hadn't even heard or seen that yet. Hell; I don't even had a primary with elementary damage for year 2, yet.

Have killed Oryx 3 times though, all three times with people who hadn't beat him yet. Pretty damn fun stuff. Got a handcannon, a pulse and a scout rifle all with great rolls (apparently raid weapons & gear can have different perks this time around).

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Raid itself....everyone I've done it with, we all pretty much agree that it's superior to both Vault of Glass & Crota.

The raid gear doesn't have elementary damage? Running it for the first time tomorrow night, pretty excited.

Ps. Run the daily today, but go to the Kell ship from the HoW strike mission. You get a exotic sniper if you complete it before the timer runs out.

You're gonna have a blast. It's brilliant.

Raid gear doesn't have elemental damage this time around (they usually save that for the Hard mode, I think)......special & heavy can be earned throughout the raid, while primaries can only be earned by defeating the entire Raid.

Thanks the the heads up, I'd have for sure been running it, but I otherwise wouldn't have known about that Kell ship/timer aspect. Danke.

when you guys talk about Destiny, I can't help but hear this....

I am a gamer as well, but listening about your "raids" killing Oryx I have to laugh a bit.

In terms of a intellectual/strategic challenge I don't think anything you guys likely have played even comes close to a Destiny Raid. (I know nothing I'd ever played comes remotely close)

The world's first team, took 7 hours to complete. If any of you cats could complete it without a youtube tutorial telling you what to do...in under ~24 hours, I'd be very surprised. If you could complete it at all.

Without having played it, it's not even possible to really understand the level of difficulty & strategy required for such a thing. They're just absurdly difficult.

That said.....like most things, what you get out of it, satisfaction wise, is on par with what you put in.

This is surprisingly challenging. Saw 'Daily Heroic' and assumed it be a relative breeze as a level 300, but even with two friends it's still hard as f*ck.

Has a Nightfall-esque modifier that boots you to orbit any time you wipe as well.

I can't help hearing this with a little lisp.... adding "cats" doesn't didn't help

World's first was more like 10-11 hours.

I think that was Vault of Glass or Oryx.....I believe 'Kings Fall' was 7 hours, though. Which blows me away. Took my group well over that just to get to the Oryx fight itself.

Had an audience of tens of thousands watching them on twitch as they pulled it off too. Which is nuts given no one would have known they were the specific team that were going to be the ones to pull it off. I'm not a twitch guy, but I'm consistently stunned at the large audiences that can be draw, for watching this level of competitive gaming.

I'll admit, I think I'll pick it up.... isn't the new one have the latest DLC built in or something like that?

Seems like it wishes it was WoW.

Except it has something WoW has been taken for granted the last several years. A challenge.

WoW is made for 14 year casual gamers. Everything's simple and really accessible.

Destiny it seems like you actually have to work/earn what you get, rather then getting it fed to you on a silver platter.

Destiny Legendary Edition is all year one content (origin Destiny & both DLC's) and then the Taken King Expansion, which is basically Destiny 2.0
