OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

Bunch of my friends have bought it and they're all gushing over it.....I watched one of them play it for a bit, via shareplay, and it looks pretty incredible.



That said, I have a hard time justifying paying the absurd release date prices for these single player games, when I can own them a couple weeks later for a third of the price. PvP games where you're jumping on to play with friends (I'll be buying The Taken King next Tuesday, for instance) makes sense.....but for a primarily single player game like MGS, Dragon Age, Witcher 3, Arkham, etc etc.....I'm more than fine waiting a little while before picking them up.
 
It does have a multiplayer component but its not functioning net...but I've heard there will be micro-transactions. But I wouldn't be playing it for multiplayer. The open world element is enough for me.
 
Yeah, they've had multiplayer in the past for MG games......but no one is buying/playing it for that.




When I pick it up, it'll just be for the single player campaign.....and from what I saw, that'll take up plenty of time, as it looks absurdly in depth.
 
What are you guys playing these days?

I'm enjoying Rimworld (even though it's still in Alpha), and LSPDFR (the police mod for GTA V)

Destiny, Journey, MLB The Show, Secret Ponchos, Starwhahl, Nidhogg, Hotline Miami 2, Dragon Age: Inquisition.......haven't been playing very much this summer overall, but those are the games I'm playing if/when I do jump on.

When you say a GTA: Police Mod, is that for PC only, or did they release a DLC I don't know about?
 
Probably a mod for the PC version of GTA. Need to get back to DA I but haven't been willing to put in the time. Other than that Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3. Most of the games on my list are next gen though.
 
Not even that really....the LSPD are a bunch of psychopaths in the game..if that's would this was, busting up meth labs and having shoot outs with the Ballas, etc...okay, I get it. Rolling around like you're on an episode of COPS though...****ing lame.

Ah. I see your point. Yeah, the community is def a bunch of people who want the mod to be as true to life as possible. A huge part of making it ``true to life`was to work on the AI cops, and they have tamed them significantly and made them more intelligent. Now they are actually pretty useful. But the range of role-play possibilities is there..from simple and lame things like being able to ticket illegally parked cars to terrorist activity and gang violence calls. (with really nice shoot-outs).

The only game that I purchased and then re-sold. Was pretty disappointed with it. Especially contrast with how well done the newest iterations of Madden & MLB The Show were.
