OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

This is surprisingly challenging. Saw 'Daily Heroic' and assumed it be a relative breeze as a level 300, but even with two friends it's still hard as f*ck.

Has a Nightfall-esque modifier that boots you to orbit any time you wipe as well.

eff man, we couldn't do it with a fireteam of 294 light. Those solar knights were a giant bitch, and nobody had a decent solar sniper :( we'd get him down but run out of time for clearing the adds

We didn't pull it off either....and I've now completed the raid twice; and beat Oryx three times. That was just a crazy hard challenge with the 10 minute time limit.

Had a friend in the fireteam sub 290, but still, was shocked we couldn't pull it off. Like you said; big issue was an inability to score good head shots with snipers. Just too much carnage coming at you.

I did figure out that if you clear out the big round blights, it allows u to clear ads a bit, but then I had to bounce so we didn't get the reps in to complete it.

Pretty cool of Bungie to thro a raid level challenge into a Daily Heroic tho.

Except it has something WoW has been taken for granted the last several years. A challenge.

WoW is made for 14 year casual gamers. Everything's simple and really accessible.

Destiny it seems like you actually have to work/earn what you get, rather then getting it fed to you on a silver platter.

Ya. I heard WoW was turned into easy mode.

Never used to be like that.

I heard of people playing destiny raids with PUGs and beating them.

So all I needed was to be the single best Destiny player on the planet (he's the same guy who original Solo'd Crota), and the exotic sword, haha.

Am glad to see I was right on the mechanics of those blights tho. Definitely think I'll be able to beat it with a good fireteam next time around. Liked his idea of using a shotty on them.

Beating a raid....and beating a raid blind are two completely different animals. I mentioned above that I've beat the new final raid boss 3 times now, and did it all 3 times with people who had yet to beat Oryx.

Last two times were relatively easy tho (took roughly 2-3 hours) because they all knew the mechanics of the fight and had seen videos on how to beat him....so it just became an issue of getting the reps in to nail down our timing.

Actually doing it with a team where you all figure it out on you in tho? ....is like the difference between learning arithmetic or learning calculus.

With all the free-to-play MOBAs out there they probably had to do that to maintain market share.

Still impresses me that they have like 7 million people paying to play a decade after it was released.

If I did not suck so much at FPS (and had more time in a day) I would give it more of a shot.
I beat the single player and got my ass kicked in battlegrounds (forget what Destiny calls them) then called it a career.

Last FPS I was very good at(with regards to multiplayer) was Timesplitters 3. But I've pre-ordered a Star Wars PS4 so I'll likely get Destiny before the end of the year.

Same thing for WoW (back in the day anyway).

Ps4, much higher base of players to pull from.

That said; everyone I know plays Ps4, and don't know a single person with a Xbone. If all your friends who play Destiny tho own that, then I'd go with Xbone.

Started the Raid last night, we're 3 hours in, and haven't faced a boss yet.

That and the game is 11+ years old. Its been almost the same thing content patch after content patch of the same thing. Games just getting old.

Ive had it since launch on PS4.

Was just curious what you guys were playing.

Awesome. Glad to hear you got your group together to jump in.

When I redid it on Tuesday I was kind of surprised by just how much I'd forgotten about, that takes place before the first mini-boss fight. Definitely lots of puzzles & different mechanics you have to figure out as a team before they throw you into a fight (where even more game mechanics & puzzles need to be solved, haha)

3 hours in though I suspect you're probably getting close...and that first mini-boss fight is definitely one of my favorites out of all three raids.
