OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

As for me, I really enjoy shooting at the range, are there any realistic shooter games that mimic the real thing?

I'll do my best to answer, keep in mind she's still young, turning 9 in Feb.

1) she's a Minecraft freak. I don't get why but she loves it.
2) she doesn't really do shooter games. She loves the Star Wars movies if that helps.
3) she's very artistic, into arts, crafts and music.
4) loves playing sports related games on her wii.

As far as extra controllers, are the wireless ones good or wired better. Also, how many people can play these games at once? Should I get three more controllers so she can play with friends? Does it support 4?

I really appreciate this guys. Completely not my thing although I may buy NHL 16 and try out what you guys are talking about.

A couple games Knack, Tearaway (same guys who made Little Big Planet), and of course the PS4 Minecraft.

Max controllers is 4 on the PS4.

Couldn't agree more. Coming from Destiny the mechanics just feel cheap.....I was also really dissapointed with how thin the game is overall. It's basically 7 different variations of PvP with 12 maps. Zero campaign missions. I can't justify paying $80 for that, regardless of how cool the graphics are or how good the soundtrack is.

I fully expected to be buying it, and was on the cusp of pre-ordering it...but after playing the beta, I can't be bothered.

I didn't play a ton of the beta, but I liked it. The visuals, and sounds in the beta were amazing. The loose handling of the guns, I think is pretty realistic for the star wars universe.

I'm frankly cool with no campaign, I'd love to see the numbers on modern shooters to see what percent of players even start the campaign in CoD and BF games.

I am really liking the new Metal Gear

have not really played the series since I think the ps2 version...so I am a bit lost on the story line but a fun game

MGS4 was fun, but too many cut scenes. MGS3 might be the best in the series as far as I'm concerned. 5 looks like a lot of fun though.

Not many cut scenes in 5.

I am getting back into it. I do not think I played any ps3 mgs.

Just ps1 and maybe ps2.

What was mgs3 for?

MG3 was on the PS2. It was a prequel to MGS 1 and 2. But the story telling and character development were staggering and unlike MGS 4 it didn't feel like a movie.

Activision Blizzard buys Candy Crush

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/activision-king-digital-candy-crush-1.3301072

Activision Blizzard will pay $5.9 billion to buy Candy Crush maker King Digital Entertainment, combining a console gaming power with an established player in the fast-growing mobile gaming field.

Activision, which owns the extraordinarily successful "Call of Duty" series, said the deal will create one of the largest global entertainment networks with more than half a billion combined monthly active users in 196 countries.

It also will help Activision get its games out of the living room and into the hands of potential players through smartphones and tablets, a market with seemingly unlimited growth potential.

Your wives and girlfriends are no longer safe from the slippery fingers of COD.

I heard somewhere that they bought Candy Crush for only .2 billion less or more than what Star Wars went for in the Disney purchase. That's insane.

sweet jeebus.

On another note... my old Samsung 52 650 series tv had a bit of a hiccup, and instead of fixing it (500 bucks or so) I went and picked up the Samsung 8500 SUHD (4K).... just put it up last night so I am still learning to use the new remote and fiddling with the calibration, but anyone else here pick up a 4K TV??

I decided to go big as Leon's had no payment no interest for 2 years, and it was no tax, and it came with an Xbox one with Halo 5 and Gears Ultimate edition. I already have a one, so I was thinking of just keeping the digital downloads and selling the xbox for 300 or so.

I played a few minutes of CODAW with the 4K upscaling and man, it really crisped things up.

Apparently Netflix has some shows in UHD/4K but I don't think in Canada yet. Again, anyone have a 4K and know about content or tweaking the TV?
