OT: Movies/TV Shows

I am a Tarantino fan, but I do feel Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is overrated. It starts out great but meanders in the middle. Pitt is terrific and it looks great and captures the feel of the late 60's. I'm just not the biggest fan of having fictional charcters changing history and interacting with real ones. I think it's one of his weaker films.

I was letdown a wee bit with Hateful Eight as well. Not that it's bad just lacking the magic in the dialogue I am use to seeing.
Once Upon A Time in Hollywood has some fantastic scenes, but also some that don't work and drag the film down.

Hummingbird Project was a decent watch. Alexander Skarsgård steals the movie.

If the topic of High Frequency Trading appeals to you, the story is also written in Michael Lewis' book Flash Boys.

I’m a child of the 80’s and I’m pretty sure I read it here first, but I am beyond geeked that the Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is just over a month out. I loved that movie as a child and just read an article on how extensive the work behind putting it together was. Also, the amount of actors wanting to be apart of it. August 30. Fabulous.

I was a "child of the 70's" and big fan of "H.R. Pufnstuf" at the time (ahhhh.....everything seemed so more innocent back then course that might just be nostalgia talking....):

Oh man that show...I named at least one cat puffin cause of that show

Apparently that theme song too closely resembled Paul Simon's song:

and Simon sued Sid & Marty Kroft. Eventually he got writing credit for the TV show theme song (with my tin ear, I only see a slight resemblance between the two songs) along with I assume $'s.

....more random useless trivia.....

Phil Collins (yes, THAT Phil Collins)' mother actually was the one that discovered the lead (Jack Wild) of the TV Show.

Watched once upon a time... In Hollywood. I liked it. Slow start, great finish. Typical Tarantino flick. Pitt and Leo were fantastic. Pitt imo was unreal.

Next movie I really want to see: the Irishman.

Loved Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood. Pitt and DiCaprio were fantastic.

I saw this movie this weekend and sorry to say that it absolutely sucked. I'm a Tarantino fan, but this movie was way too long and boring. Margot Robbie was in it, but for no real reason other than eye candy. The scene with her in the movie theater (what for?) The movie was about 3 hrs long and only the last 10 minutes or so were interesting. Regardless of what you think, it didn't have much to do with Manson. His character was in the movie for 1 scene. Dicaprio was good, but this movie could have just been about him and his character. It took you on a side quest with the hippies, but didn't really pay off. 3 out of 10.

To each their own, but I feel you missed a lot of what helped to make it a great movie. There were so many great scenes involved the Manson family angle.

They could have made it a movie about the DiCaprio character only... but I thought the Manson family angle was a great addition.
