Finally saw Midsommar. My favourite film of the year. It's long, but I was never bored. It slowly builds tension and is so well made and acted. I can't wait for the 3 hour directors cut coming out next month. It had to be cut to avoid NC-17.

It was pretty was certainly creepy/trippy.

It's very much like a sons of anarchy set in 1918 but I like it

I loved it. Really well done, and of course Joaquin was amazing.

It's actually a great stand alone movie... but I really hope they have him as the villain in the next Batman movie.

I guess I see both sides of the backlash, but what is it about this film particularly?

Is it Joakim Phoenix? Is it the legacy of the Joker character on film?

Is it just a sign of the times, that people are too reactive to making people uncomfortable?
