Late to the party on this, but Jesus h Christ, 'Drive' was a brilliant movie.....didn't realize until afterwards that it was the same director (Nicolas Winding Refn) who did another movie I hyped the shit out of on here, 'Bronson', but I think what he did with the "neo noir crime thriller" genre with this film, outdid his previous work.

The cinematography, pacing, the score(!), flawless use of one of the most underrated (and under-utilized) tools in cinema.....silence....took what on paper looks like a fairly ho-hum script, and turned it into one of the best films from last year that I recall seeing.

Not a film for everyone, and I'm sure anyone who went in expecting a standard action film centered around chase scenes, left dissatisfied, but for film nerds and/or neo noir fans, it was damn near perfection.

Without a doubt....one of the few films in recent memory that I can recall immediately grabbing the soundtrack to, the moment the flick was done...

Gosling really might be shaping up to be one of the best actors of this generation. It's hard to believe he used to be Sean Hanlon on Breaker High.

Highly, highly suggest people see Blue Valentine and Half Nelson to see him at his best in other works.

As for Avengers, for me it was good simply as an "Iron Man + Hulk" movie. Those 2 were great.
