OT: Movies/TV Shows

Here is a question. What do movies cost for you guys? I am going to Ant man tonight, but the theatre I go to only costs 8 bucks. It also only has 3-4 English movies at a time.PIxels for example won't be in English next week.

Usually 9-10 where I go.

I don't miss the theater BS of Quebec. Not opening big movies in English is nutty from a business standpoint.

Anyone see Antman? Any good?

I'm pretty meh on it.

Just got back. I enjoyed it. Some solid laughs and great effects. Also a couple really good fight scenes. Its no Winter Solider, but its better than Thor 2 or the first Cap't America.

If you like the Marvel/Avengers universe, you'll like this one.

Also FYI - 2 after movie scenes. one mid credits, and one post credit.

I watched "Trainwreck" tonight. Can Judd Apatow please find a good editor? Again, some funny scenes that are dragged-out far too long and the movie was atleast 20 minutes too long. Terrible pacing.
Women seemed to love it though. They were really laughing at the screening I was at.

I do find Shumer funny. It's just the same old story with every Apatow movie. You can tell the long scenes that are improvised and should have been at least edited-down or cut altogether.

I think True Detective turned a bit of a corner with episode 5 tonight. Still suffers from some questionable dialogue, and even more questionable acting at times.....it still very much misses Fukunaga's direction from season 1....but Crowley did the best job of the season with the 5th episode, imo. Had a cohesion to it that the four previous episodes all lacked.

Still a huge fall off from season 1....but if they can keep the momentum going from episode 5 over the final three, and Pizzolatto's overarching story is on point, it could make for a entertaining final few weeks.

I agree, more or less with all of this....finally we had an episode that didn't have Vince Vaughn speaking in bewildering riddles..Kitsch is still painful to watch to me though.

Been pleasantly surprised given the early bad buzz, and Vaughn is not surprisingly the weak link for me.

The biggest missing link in the follow-up season has been the setting. The urban setting just doesn't stack up to last season's rural Louisiana swamp. There was a real biblical/mythical element to last season, and a danger that went along with it.
