OT: NFL Thread

That's showing a lot of faith in Brock Purdy.

They are an excellent team -- very physical and skilled
It's got almost nothing to do with Purdy & everything to do with the team.

It's a juggernaut team with a nobody at QB.

49ers did not have a very strong schedule. They're a good team but they're not better than a few other teams.
Only team that beats them is Kansas City or Buffalo on a turnover free day.

If Hurts was healthy, the Philly-San Fran game would potentially be San Fran - Seattle from a decade ago. But since he's not...

Same can be said for any team regarding turnovers. San Fran has a good offense but I don't think they want to run and gun with KC or Buffalo with Purdy under center.

Seattle isn't a very good team and they gave them a run until the fourth quarter. 49ers are a good team but beatable.

Buffalo has the best QB, by a slim margin over KC, and the rest left are good. But Allen is alone among playoff QB’s left who can move their teams 90 yards in two or three plays.

I’d take Allen over Mahomes right now.
I'd take either. To me it's 1A and 1B.

Allen is still prone to forcing things but does have the stronger arm and is a bull to bring down. Mahomes gets him on accuracy and field vision.

I would easily take Mahomes over Allen.

If Allen was consistent, I think I'd take him, but since he's not...

I can agree with that. Once Allen finally shakes that inconsistency though he'd be unstoppable

Allen is consistent. The problem is that Buffalo does not believe in slowing down the game on offense, even when it would be beneficial. But I don’t recall ever seeing a QB who can the sling the ball downfield, and is accurate, like Josh Allen.

Favre could

Allen is more consistent than previously yes but he still tries to force plays or extend them at inopportune times. Until he drastically limits that, he's not consistent enough to beat out Mahomes.

I will remind people that mahomes does have Kelce and had Hill along with one of the best olines. None of which Allen had coming in.

he was consistently throwing red zone INTs earlier this season, happily for Habsy, he stopped.

No, he's literally the dictionary definition of inconsistent.

You'll have games where he looks like, quite literally, possibly the greatest quarterback we'll see in our lives and then a week after you'll have games where he looks awful.

Nobody in the NFL has more combined fumbles & interceptions than Josh Allen does. Last I checked, those are still really important to avoid.

Allen has Diggs, that’s it. I’m still taking Allen.
While Mahomes has...? JuJu? Valdez-Something? A NYG castaway? As his primary receivers?

I'll grant you that Kelce is great, but Mahomes isn't exactly surrounded by world beaters outside of him.
