OT: NFL Thread

Last year Brady and Rodgers maybe, but not the version I saw this year.
Brady looked like she finally caught up with him and Rodgers looked like he’d rather do anything but play football, he’s only there for the paycheck.

Brady looked absolutely dreadful against the Cowboys and Rodgers couldn’t even beat the Lions with the season on the line. I think you’re stuck with the past glory versions of themselves.
GW , a complete washed up Manning wins a super bowl in Denver with an arm of a 14 year old girl

Team was built with elite D and just enough O for him to manage

Brady and Rodgers still got game just not carry my team stuff anymore

You telling me you hold Frisco to basically field goals and these 2 legends couldnt play better than Dak the Cack .......cmon

Dak was a turnover machine this year , these 2 are still quality QB`s

This year? Maybe. I don't think Brady or Rodgers throw 2 picks so that's a huge improvement already. It was a dreadful game for Dak, he was terrible.

My point was about next year, projecting further decline in those two. I don't think they'll win with Dak, but I have serious doubts they'll will with 46 years old Brady, and mentally retired Rodgers.

Jimmy no balls Jones needs to pull the trigger

Only 2 years left , its moveable
trading him now means an 89 million cap hit this year, no way the team takes that hit. I was mad at him for the two INTs, but while they were a huge reason we lost, not the sole reason (the fluke catch by Kittle, the Pollard dirty tackle which broke his leg, the dropped INT by Diggs before the two holding calls in the red zone) were huge too.

If you can win a SB with Stafford, you can win one with Dak. Hell, Wilson showed this year that he was carried for years in Seattle too.

I wish we could get a more consistent QB but guys like Burrows and Mahomes do not grow on trees.

Tank next season and draft Caleb Williams. Problem solved.

That contract was unprecedented in that every penny was guaranteed

28M x 3 yr in 2018

It didn’t work out. I didn’t expect it to.

Dishing out elite money to non elite QBs rarely does.
I don't understand this.....

To me, Vikings either get a below average QB, and they don't have regular season success since 2018, or they get an above average QB (Cousins) and enjoy 10-13 win seasons.

Either way, they are not winning the SB.....wouldn't you rather enjoy some wins ?

Vikings are like the Habs....they need to overpay for leftovers.....Vikings did that with Cousins, i don't blame them for it.....they were not getting Rodgers, Brady, Stafford, etc.....they jumped on Cousins, what were the other options ? Tank for Justin Fields ? Tank for Trey Lance ?

I'd rather have Cousins and his limitations....

Ohhhh....and i'm a lifetime Dolphins fan.....my team has had less success than yours.....I almost wish we had Cousins the past 5 years (Tua is great, but he's always injured)....

Tua is far from great.

nah....Kirk chose the Vikes over the Jets because the Vikes were coming off a year where they made it all the way to the NFC championship game with a backup QB (Keenum). Their D was elite and so it was easy to assume that Kirk had the potential to take them over the hump (of course, the D regressed immediately for a bunch of reasons)

Secondly, Cousins was far from being a leftover acquisition -- in fact, he's pretty much as it good as it gets when it comes to established QB free agents. The elite QBs like Mahomes, Rodgers, etc do not hit free agency in their prime years.

Unpopular opinion but QBs are by far the most overrated position in football. I can’t understand why they are paying that kind of money for middle of the road QBs.

Sure, middle of the road QBs are overvalued... but good QBs are invaluable... and very difficult to come by.

Actually running backs are overrated. No matter how great they are one moment, they get replaced by someone just as good or better the next. The world is lousy with running backs. QB's are a little more rare, ones who can play, at any rate.

RB, TE, WR are available in every round but teams consistently overpay them

Many of the top players at those positions are not first round picks
