OT: NFL Thread

Parsons is a pretty safe pick. LBs are not as valued in today's game but Parson is a stud.
Not at all. It’s a great pick. I wish the Eagles would have drafted him at 10.
Parsons will be great if he doesn't get misdirected all the time. If he figures that out, then he'll be excellent. And last I checked, the NFL is moving towards trying to misdirect players.

Last year's Cowboy linebackers kept getting misdirected. Replace Jaylon Smith & Vander Esche by... another player that does exactly what they do, but more athletically?

We'll see, but meh. I'm not pleased. If they wanted a safe pick, Nick Bolton was safe.

How the **** did everybody just pretty much let the Patriots get their guy at 15??

Falcons and Broncos passed on QBs, causing Fields to fall and then Jones.

I think the Vikings will regret not taking him but I knew they wouldn’t since that would be admitting they made a mistake extending Cousins

What makes you think the Patriots know what they're doing, though? They have a poor history of drafting and they just took the prototypical QB... if we were in 2001.

I have real doubts that Mac Jones becomes anything.

So far, it looks like the Bears got the best value pick....Justin Fields fell far enough for them to make a move and snatch him. Patriots probably were eying him

good move for them....and the Giants who get a 1st and a 4th next year to move down 9 picks

Highly Possible but if they’re right they get a good QB on a rookie deal — the most valuable asset in all of pro sports

Mac Jones, even if he’s the 5th best QB of his class, will have a full year of sitting on the bench behind Cam Newton, all while learning Josh/Bill’s playbook

There’s definitely hope

Rousseau is a freak athlete but a bit of a question mark since he opted out last year. Boom or bust.

Nah, he's not a freak athlete by any stretch. He's big and long without being good in any one thing.

He's a third round player for a team that wants a project.

Jags taking Etienne was a surprise since they already have a good RB. Bills must have been pissed. I knew Pitt was taking Harris. He’s the prototypical Steelers RB. Great fit there.

The reviews are mixed.
He's more of system pocket passer -- lacks the off schedule talent the other mobile QBs have.

Again, the key is salary. You can really surround a solid QB with weapons/protection/good D when he's on a rookie deal.
