Bears are a bit grumpy. Most of the huge dog breeds are the gentlest ones.
I don't mind cats but alot of them would absolutely murder you if they were bigger.
Heh, this kind of got me thinking about why I haven't got a dog yet. Grew up with them, love them, but that was when I lived in the middle of nowhere. If the dog needed to take a shit, you just let it outside (and trained it to go in the woods). If the dog needed exercise, you played with him if you felt like it....or you just let him outside. If it was a nice day, you just checked back whenever to see if he wanted in.
Since I've lived in the burbs? Holy shit, dogs just seem like too much work. Walk them 3 times a day, pick up their shit, can't let them off leash.
There's also way too many dog owners who treat the dog like a person. Consider it part of the family? Sure, I can relate to that. But train it like a dog so the thing isn't a complete menace. Also when did taking dogs literally everywhere you go become a thing? I have friends that won't leave their dog alone for more than an hour or two. If I invite them over for dinner or whatever, the first question I get is "Is it ok if the dog comes?" - Seriously? The dog can't just hang out by itself for like 4 hours?
