OT: Soccer thread

Kid is still extremely raw and a total boom or bust signing, but he’s only been playing professional football for 1.5 years or something absurd, and he strikes the ball as smoothly as any wunderkid in recent memory.

would love to bring him in to train with top tier coaches, and apprentice behind Richarlison year one….would love bringing him on as a late sub against tired defenders.

KDB out 3-4 months, and sounds like Arsenal have lost off-season signing Julienne Timber for the year.

Doubtful it’s enough to really move the needle, but would be nice to have a real dog fight for first for a change, good 3-5 teams in the run for much of the year.

God I hate this kind of shit…Chelsea & City are a blight on the sport.

Palace was able to gazump Chelsea’s attempted thievery of Olise, and signed him to a new 4 year deal.

Amazing news, love when lower clubs can keep their stars…..their fans have to be over the moon, after believing they’d lost him for just £36m, yesterday.

👏🏼

All because a few years ago Ajax whined that they “deserved” to be in the CL when they didn’t qualify.

Bah. Earn it or GTFO.

while I agree, CL should have 5 EPL teams competing in it. 4 wasn’t enough for how quality the league is.

that said, I fucking love Europa too (one of the purest footy tournaments there is, since there’s rarely ever any of the giga-money squads)….so I never minded finishing 5th.

quoting the photo for Deckie so he can visualize what positions/players I’m discussing.

thanks for your valuable insights tho.
All in good fun. I’m not sure I can get over the profound sadness of bringing Tottenham’s history of failure to a Leafs message board, but it’s the Internet, do what you like.

meh, I’m on record as always finding peoples obsession with “trophies are the only thing that matters” pretty smooth-brained.

I get that’s the narrative every pro sport pushes, but it’s just not something I choose play into…..I care about the story each season tells, and the day to day entertainment of transfers, position battles. academy kids graduating to the first team, etc etc….same philosophy in every sport I follow.

For me any titles are just the cherry on top, it’s not the whole Sunday.

Well, you seem to have an enlightened view on what really matters in sports. Kudos and 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 lots to learn from your Tottenham fandom.

Back to quoting yourself on spurs strategy then.
