OT: Soccer thread

Derek Cornelius of all players just hit a wicked free kick goal to make it 1-0.

this a very good competitive game so far, though we have been a little more dangerous.

Laryea is the most underrated canadian ever. For the life of me i don't understand how he could never catch on with a good european team.

TLDW

But I do know that tickets for the group stage games in Guadalajara start at about 1200 pesos (~85 CAD) for the lowest tier, and something in the range of 2500-3000 for decent seats which is a bit pricey for Mexico, but not terrible.

This guy makes great vids, but to sum:

FIFA created NFTs to give the right to buy tickets to a particular team for the final...not actual tickets, but NFTs into the thousands for the right to buy tickets, and you have to pick the team ahead of time, so obviously the Argentinas and Spains of the world right to buy NFT are crazy expensive.

There are basically no cheap tickets at all in the US....like the cheapest tickets are a few rows at the very tippy top of the stadium, usually with obstructed views of some kind.

There's way more stuff, but it's really just gross how greedy and evil FIFA is. My favourite is that they built their own secondary market and then charge 15% on the resale on both sides. So a resale $1000 ticket costs the buyer $1150 and the seller gets $850 from the $1000 sale.

I kinda hope it's a flop, with 3/4 full stadiums with no atmosphere.

super rough and tumble against the aussies right now.

canada the better team but couldn't score against the aussies' parked bus and started getting frustrated and then let up a howler.

don't know that they have it in them to tie this one up.

this game is a legit brawl.

shaffelburg robbed on a point blank chance but that really had to go in.

They were a little vulnerable in the left channel, but otherwise Oz played a damn good cantenaccio. Tajon looked dangerous, but ran out of gas and was totally invisible when Bos came on. The only guy who looked like he might break through was Kone.
