OT: Soccer thread

Sénégal are African champions. 1-0 and it took ET. Apparently the game was crazy. A ridiculous Panenka that was botched, a player walk off, etc.

Gonna track down this one on the Tube.

I’ve never been more wrong about a manager than I was about Thomas Frank….with how well he did with Brentford I really thought he’d be an ideal hire, and would take that next step with a bigger budget.

Turns out, the architecture of Brentford’s Football Operations were the real stars, and they’ve been just as good or better without him.

Mourinho, Conte, Nuno, and Ange all turned out roughly how you’d think they might…..but Frank being an utter disaster blindsided me.

We’re also just face to face with cold reality of a post-Kane & Son era that came with so much self creating offence built into the squad. We need to find a new talisman badly.

Canada Soccer has or will be announcing a number of games pre world cup on canadian soil.

March window (unofficial) opponents will be Iceland and Tunisia in Toronto.

Games in Edmonton and Montreal have been announced already i believe.

managers are important and all but, as someone who thinks most english players get highly overrated, the one who has always been underrated is Harry Kane.

He's just a monster of a player and it's unlikely the spurs ever see his like again tbh.

Agreed, they've been a rough watch this year. I love MVV, but he shouldn't be our top scorer. I have no idea what they are doing anymore. At least with Ange you knew what the games would look like but Frank's squads are just listless.

very nice goal for Jonathan David in a huge top table game against Napoli today.

he's finally officially on a roll now.
