OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

(P.S. How'd you get the beets if you don't like them? Gift?)
they have this thing called the Odd Bunch where you get sent a mystery box of produce that was rejected by grocers but actually completely fine..usually just cosmectic issues. It's usually a good deal but you never know what you are gonna get. And I got beets.

beets are sweet and delicious. and a superfood.

not a shitpastefiller like potatoes.

oh and add minced garlic to the previous list of ingredients. my bad. i blanked.

I do not like sweet vegetables in general. But mebbe pickling them is the way to go.

It’s better than roasting them, which only makes them sweeter

Or boil them like Zeke said and crumble some feta on top of them

in all seriousness, beet salad isn't bad. It's not good, but also not bad.

I don't entirely disagree with the potato take. I do think it misses the point in that a potato is nothing but a very good (and yes bland) vessel for culinary artistry that can be explored in hundreds of different forms. But I can't say I'm in love with any single potato dish. It's fine as the bridesmaid, but never the bride. And you can do some cool things with the product from a culinary perspective.
