OT: The News Thread

Yeah, polygamy should definitely be legal. I get that it would be frowned upon socially, but as long as people are entering into those marriages with free will, why is it wrong to the point of being illegal?
 
Had a bunch of buddies over last night and one of the guys randomly brought up 9/11 and the "Loose Change" video conspiracy theory.

Man that stuff kills me. Just full moron.

I would not be surprised if there was pre-existing SMALL charges to the structure to control the fall. Some footage actually suggests that by the small explosions (they could be caused by steel on steel impact). You don't really want that thing to topple over and take out a couple of blocks of buildings.....and deaths.

BUT.....BUT.....that's as far as I will go in the conspiracy debate.

I am not going too deep into this either, but I don't know how anyone could possibly believe that WTC 1 & 2 were controlled demolitions.

1) A guy can't even beat off in his own apartment without the entire world finding out.
2) Those buildings did not collapse inwards.

Not to play a structural engineer too much or anything, but obviously the buildings north of the plane impact did collapse on to the rest of the structure, but the debris was spraying all over the place. It looked like it was crumbling as it fell.

I've seen some detonations on TV and a truck explode live once (controlled) and it didn't look like that at all.

You see? You see now why people fight so hard for traditional marriage? You're doing precisely what I told you you would do- if gay marriage is ok, then EVERY kind of marriage is "ok". The same kinds of arguments used to justify gay marriage are the same ones you use here to justify polygamy. This is how deconstructionists like you work. Just like this.

I love how they take a bunch of people saying "it sounds like explosions". Great, most of those people have no idea what a real explosion sounds like, and most importantly you are hearing a sky scraper fall to the ground...of course it's going to be making insane sounds.

In any steel building, the weakest points are the joints. Any time you separate the continuous line of support, gravity does the rest.

Sooo...

What I am suggesting/speculating is "somewhat" controlled, but far from what we see on tv. I'm suggesting is that they could blow SOME joints (every ten floors?) so as to not have a monolithic structure coming over. You don't have to have a sequential firing for a perfect "one hole" collapse. Just enough that you have a somewhat vertical collapse.

Maybe they were there, maybe they weren't. Don't get me wrong. Even if there were there, it's a reasonable thing to do. It sounds terrible, but since the people inside are goners, it's no use taking out an entire block to go with them.

Rarely have I ever been as angry as when 9/11 happened and I'm as far from a truther as there could be. So I'm not "making this up" as some excuse or apology. Just speculating.

I don't think anyone could "hear" explosion with a rumbling building coming down. Plus, steel can make a pretty loud twang when joints fails....or massive pieces of steel whacking each other.

People like you have always flailed and wailed whenever there is societal change, preaching doom due to loose morals or whatever nonsense sounds good to the fellow authoritarian nutters of the day. The world, as it's become more free, has become exponentially a better place to be. People like you have always stood in the way of those freedoms as you firmly believe that your way of living is the only way of living. Even going so far as creating ridiculous fantasies about the importance of your ethos through the years, pretending that is wasn't a massive anchor on human development.
