OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Is that the same stat that told us he's been better than Kevin Durant over the past few years?

I like that you're still trying to mock me about this.

Durant's dropped lately, but his peak was higher, same years: 5.8, 5.6, 8.0, 7.9, 6.1, 8.8, 7.7

Word is Kyle Korver has a wink wink agreement with Cavs that he'll be given his release if the team is no good, they are not. I'd love to replace Miles with Korver.

RJ Barrett set a Duke opening night freshman record with 33pts last night, and added 6 assiss.

Duke is going to be incredible this year. RJ is the real deal. Too bad he won’t end up in T.O.

Also not to be overlooked. Dort had 28 pts for Arizona State in his first game as well

I'm mocking you because the stat is obviously flawed if it shows Kyle Lowry to be a more effective player than Kevin Durant under any circumstances. And that ain't the only funny thing that stands out with BPM and the chart you previously posted.

hey, you can continue to be surprised at the play of Lowry and the Raps if you'd like.

Nice deflection.

I've already mentioned Lowry has played out of his mind thus far. And definitely surprised by how well the Raps have played (even without Kawhi) but there is a difference between being a happy fan and a happy fan who thinks Kyle Lowry is better than Kevin Durant. Also Kyle has historically been much better in the regular season than in the playoffs. I know you blame this all on DeMar and Casey or LeBron or whoever (basically everybody but Kyle himself) but he definitely has to show up in the spring for any of this to matter.

deflect from what?

Lowry is a super elite player.

You mocked it, and are now surprised by how he and the raps are playing.

your choice.

Few things:

-Lowry has been a stud this season. He looks healthy, motivated and is just playing some phenomenal ball right now. He is legit in the MVP conversation at this early stage of the season.

-Nurse has been pretty much everything we've wanted from a Casey successor. He's gotten everyone to buy in to their respective roles to start the season. What he's gotten out of JV and Ibaka should have him in the running for CoY.

-I'm ok with Kawhi taking games off. We need him healthy for the playoffs.

-That Duke game last night was wow. Zion, Reddyish and RJ are a nasty trio.

Barrett is going to be a stud, but so is Zion Williamson, also on Duke.

I'd really like to see the Mavs bottom out one more year to add either of these guys to Doncic and for the ****ing Cavaliers to miss out on both.

Kyle Lowry Is The NBA’s Master Of Taking The Clutch Charge

....Somehow, in a league flowing with more 3-pointers than we’ve ever seen, Lowry has found a way to make momentum-shifting plays without hitting dagger jumpers. Instead, he’s taking dagger charges — stifling an opponent’s last-ditch comeback efforts. He all but sealed Wednesday’s victory by taking one against Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox with a little more than three minutes left. Three days prior, he drew one on the Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma in the final two minutes of an eventual win in Los Angeles.....

everyone's starting to clue in. This just a choice quote but the whole article is raving about this roster.

There’s a compounding effect to being on a roster with so many 3-and-D players. Everyone in Toronto looks like the best version of themselves because they are in lineups with four shooters and four defenders around them. They are the only team in the NBA that can play like that for all 48 minutes of a game
