I don't know how good Patton is but he is a 20yr old 16th overall pick.
Butler is awesome but PHI now really needs some outside shooting - Covington and Saric were their two most frequent 3pt starters. Butler is ok from 3 but not great.
Philly gets better, but they still don't scare me. Jimmy is a well known ******* who is sick of playing heavy minutes according to his last interview and that Sixers team is ****ing thin after Simmons (who without a jump shot isn't going to be a feature piece against top teams in the playoffs) Embiid and Jimmy Buckets.
Also wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy doesn't re sign there. Giving up Covington and Saric for 60 games of Jimmy is risky, risky. We did way better in the Kawhi trade, for the better player than the Sixers did for Jimmy.
Meh, Jimmy is 29 with 7 yrs of Thib usage on his body and already declining a bit (in fairness he's declining from true elite 2 way wing status so it will be a gentle decline I'd imagine, injuries notwithstanding). Simmons has no jump shot in an era that is being defined by the 25 foot jump shot. Embiid is a legit modern centre though, absolutely.
Serge needs to stop shooting 3's up top. Corner or **** off Serge. He's just not efficient enough with them to bother, and he plays way, way better as a 16 foot and in guy.
Lorenzo Brown needs to be removed from the rotation entirely. Completely ****ing useless and almost single handedly ended the Raptors run at both ends of the court.
Also as amazing as the team has been, for a team that takes the 9th most threes, and completes the 15th best 3% they need CJ Miles to be better, because that guy doesn't do anything else.
In fact i'd be all in favour of calling the Cavs up and offering Miles and a pick for Kyle Korver.
Neither one can defend a lick but at least KK can still drain.
One thing I expect is Masai to be aggressive as hell once we get into the meat of the season. As much as I think the Raps have a shot at keeping Kawhi, there's also a very real chance that this is a one and done opportunity at the finals/chip. You can't let a down season from CJ dictate the success of the second unit, or if healthy Norm reverts to last season's Norm, same thing. Have to be pretty cut throat with the guys who aren't performing once we hit the ~40 game mark or so.
