OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Thomas was brutal. Couldn’t defend. Didn’t shoot when open. 2nd round pick for a guy that’ll be out of the league soon is a good deal for us.

Masai is taking this Lowry deal right to the wire.

I fully acknowledge that I'm dumb but I'm not quite understanding why teams aren't blowing their load for Kyle.

As for Hood, he becomes a perfect contract to trade. Sure, they could use him on the court, but he’s a non-guaranteed $10 million contract for next season. If the Raptors trade him, the acquiring team can cut him without paying that money. It becomes quite meaningful if Ujiri decides to swing big in the offseason for a disgruntled star player on a big salary.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Now all of a sudden Baynes (not guaranteed for 2022), Hood, and Boucher become enough contract filler to salary match for KAT. So if you wanted to keep Siakam and OG instead of include one in the deal, we can get there now.

1/ they've mostly already blown their loads, we'd be getting the leftovers
2/ despite this (or because of this?), they're unwilling to give up full value... ***shrugs***
