OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Grizzlies sent Hasheem Thabeet to the D-League today...
One NBA assistant who does much scouting/prep work texted: "He needs to work on two things to get back to NBA...His offense and defense." Another front office executive on Thabeet: "If he works -- really works -- he can be Dampier."
Ouch

That's overly harsh really...but I hope Thabeet really works on his game, it needs the work. Thabeet could turn into a really, really dominant defensive player. But he's incredibly raw at both ends of the court. He didn't even start playing basketball until he was 15-16, and he's got some co ordination issues.

If by "Dampier", that exec means the 12/12/2 career season Dampier, sure...but I think even that's selling Thabeet's potential short. Thabeet could become a 10-12+ board, 3-4 block defensive menace. Memphis has little reason to be patient with him at the NBA level though, they already have a very good, very young 7'1 centre, and one of the top PF's in the league.

the good news is that Kevin Garnett is absolutely useless now.

a complete pylon. McDyess II.

Boston did an excellent job hiding just how bad his knee had gotten....but I don't know if he's "McDyess II".

Still a decent 14/7 PF with a ton of leadership. With that said though:

10-11: 18.8 million
11-12: 21.2 million

****ing ouch

oh absolutely...the problem with taking really raw prospects in the draft is that a lot of times the team who drafts them isn't the team they end up breaking out with.

just how important is it keeping Bosh this summer???

We'll be maxed out with guys like Bargs, Turk and Jack trying to be 1st options.

WE really have to find a way to keep him, I mean paying him under the table ways to keep him
