OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Memphis up big over Washington. Bane is close to a return, and JJJ is back. If they win tonight and we lose tomorrow against the Pistons, we're tied in the standings but Memphis has the tie breaker (tied in head to head, but the 2nd tie breaker is position in your division. We're last in the Atlantic, they're 2nd last to SAS....so yeah, SAS being junk could potentially fuck them out of this pick would be outstanding)

Also, Star J is out against the Pistons tomorrow so a bad lineup gets even worse.

Will you be in support of his title chase this year?

Yeah, sure. I love OG. Hope for nothing but the best. I hope he gets paid, wins a chip, 1st team all D, etc, etc.

I'm running out of sentimental teams to give a fuck about in the playoffs. I love Kyle but can't cheer for Philly. Serge and Marc are gone. Norm being a 2x would be nice, and I've got no ill will towards Kawhi at all, so yeah that works. Indy isn't winning, but I hope Pascal gets back to being somewhat clutch and wins a few rounds.

But most of my "I'd like to see this guy win" feelings have been sorted. Giannis has his, Joker + Murray have theirs. So yeah, why not a weirdo Knicks run with OG being a stud for Knicks fans (the closest we have to NBA cousins as Leaf fans tbh).

More important to me now is who doesn't win. Fuck the Celtics, Sixers, Suns, & Lakers.

I agree.

The Knicks are oddly like the only NY franchise that doesn't bother me. Its really hard not to appreciate that dedicated a fanbase for such an awful product. I suppose i dont want to see James Dolan win a damn thing, but relative to other realstic options, they are a perfectly reasonable choice, and yeah, i guess Clippers, or...Phoenix?

I need to see this Phoenix thing fail. The super team era needs to die and every GM who thinks about trying it out again needs a cautionary tales.

Now, the Suns aren't a super team. But the intent behind the Beal trade was that he's actually a star and will give Phoenix a 3 headed monster super team. I want this entire team building idea dead. If you're lucky enough to have 2 premium scoring talents like KG and Booker together, you should be looking at building an actual fucking team around them. Ball handling/playmaking, interior defence and rebounding, 3&D guys, glue guys who do a little bit of everything, etc.

I think this whole "I'm going to put KD, Kyrie, and James Harden together" or "these 3 MVP calibre assholes want to play together and fuck two franchises over at the same time to make it happen, lol" shit is bad for the league, and bad for the sport. It needs to die.

imo Raptors fans have no reason to be mad at the dude. Showed up when the US media was telling he didn't want to, was a professional about his season here, left us with some funny stories and a title run, went home to California but didn't join the Warriors (hardest road!) or the Lakers.
one hundo p

I mean, it would have been fun of course, but he didn't owe it to the franchise, city, etc.

Dude came, did some historic shit, and left. If it wasn't for Kyle existing, he would be in serious consideration for being the best Raptor of all time with one season here.
And tbh, if he had a choice and wasn't injured he may have not reported ( who knows how actually true that is) but he was dealt here, dominated, won, behaved, and went home. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever aside from the expectations the fanbase had that he might come back, and probably Uncle Dennis and his team, but really thats not even that big a deal either. A FA has the right to negotiate

I think he owed it to his teammates, the fans, the city, his legacy. He literally tried to pull the super team bullshit you just complained about instead of giving it another go with a franchise that took him out of a bad situation and put him in a spot to win. And I hope it’s his last one.

Nah, he went home and tried to bring a sidekick (who was also a LA dude). He didn't try to go full super team.

He gets credit for doing his own thing on the Clippers instead of the easy way out and become a Laker.

How many elbow procedures can OG go through before his arms are toast
