OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Indiana gets TJ Warren from Phoenix.

Atlanta gets number 4 pick from NOLA for 2 firsts this year plus an early second.

Kawhi seen buying moving boxes at Home Depot. Feeling like if he was taking everything he’d have movers do it. Bet this is just his summer crap he wants to bring

It’s an excellent market. But not sure it can be counted on to surpass LA or NYC.

Nope. I've always argued that Toronto belongs with that next tier. Miami, Boston, Houston, Chicago, Toronto

Tier 1: LA, NYC
Tier 2: Boston, Houston, Toronto, Chicago, Bay Area, Philly, Dallas, Miami

Toronto punched below it's weight class for a long time because the Raptors were a joke, but the market has always been outstanding.

If he was clearing everything out, he would be using a full service moving company and they provide everything.

No. No. No.

Moving guys get paid.

In all seriousness, how much fun would it be to bump into Kawhi at HD?

I bumped into Bargnani at Whole Foods. Zero Fun.
Sat at the table next to JV at Gusto. More Fun.

I don't think one has really lived at all, until they run into Kawhi at home depot and discuss which impact driver to get. I mean, if Kawhi is a Makita guy (Ryobi for life), I don't know if I could be a fan anymore.

Useless stiff. Zeke's second worst hot take (Ryan O'Reilly says **** you)

Yeah, JV would probably be fun. Anyone with a binge drinking problem is fun.

This trade makes the AD move look a little bit different now....

Pelicans trade:

-AD
-Solomon Hill (shit player making 13 million next year, so cap space)
-2019 57th overall
-"Future 2nd round pick"

Pelicans receive:

Brandon Ingram
Lonzo Ball
Josh Hart
2021 top 8 protected 1st (can be pushed to an unprotected 2022 pick)
2023 1st round pick swap rights
2024 1st (which NOP can defer to 2025)
2019 8th overall
2019 17th overall
2019 35th overall

Griffin for executive of the year.

That’s a lot of assets. Lest see what happens. I think you could see some of those picks move tonight for a player

.

Tools aren't my thing, but I thought Ryobi was geared for the prosumer hobbyist while Makita was the dependable workhorse.

It gets better. New Orleans has over 30 million in cap space available...

They have

- Zion, Ingram, Lonzo, Hart, Jrue, 8th overall, 17th overall. They have about 15 million in shitty salaries left (short term) that they have the spare picks to punt on. They could bring back Randle, and add a fairly significant player on top of that in free agency.

Griffin has done a great job, and is halfway to doing a spectacular job.

My understanding that Makita uses a lot of plastic internals in their non professional grade stuff.

Here's my spicy hot take of the evening. Zion will not be a NBA superstar. Remarkable athlete, will be stunning in transition, and great defensively. A good slasher and a great finisher in the P/R. But I don't see him getting his own shot against NBA defences as a primary ball handler. His jump shot is going to keep him from being truly great, the generational type prospect I'm seeing him called regularly. He's an undersized Blake Griffin who is elite in transition. Kind of like what would happen if Lebron and Charles Barkley made sweet love and had a child but it lacked a jump shot.

With where the NBA has been going, the a premium put on shooting, I think we might look back in 4-5 years and cringe that the Pels didn't take Morant.

Standing Ovation at the Jays game.......for Kawhi.
Leonard just walked down to the front row.

He's either staying or he's trolling the city now. He was supposed to leave town a day or two after the parade, but he's still in the city and he's at the Dome to watch the Jays? I guess it's possible that he's an Angels fan (he grew up in Riverside, which is close to Anaheim)...but you would think that he could take his ass to L.A and watch there if he was done with Toronto.

Sure feels like he's starting to stretch his legs out in Toronto a little bit.
