Solid defender but the offensive IQ of zero

He is a bigger Ariza on a max deal

If he was 6`4" he would be out of the league by now

He is fine as the 4rth guy behind KD , Harden and KyME

He needs to watch Booker or Tatum on how to take over a playoff game

He has been atrocious in the playoffs , a college player would do better

That missed dunk was about as dumb a play you will ever see , he is scared to shoot

Cant hit a midrange , 3 ball , free throw

5 years now , enough is enough

But why can't he hit a jumper? Has he put zero work? Has he been told to focus on other parts of his game? Even the ugliest jump shooters when they entered the league (ason Kidd, Rondo, etc) figured it out eventually. As for fit, Simmons in the dunker spot with a stretch four would be a way better fit. The dude is bigger then the average center in the NBA.

Sit him down with a therapist because his shot isn’t broken from a mechanical standpoint. Like Deckie said we’ve had way worse shooters somewhat figure it out like Rondo, early Kidd.
 
Eh he's about the same height and weight as Siakam, but with much less wingspan.

And Siakam's too small to bang in the post all day, and we get frustrated with his lack of a shot even as a post player, and he's a massively better shooter than simmons.

2 inches taller, 10 lbs heavier. You don't need him to bang in the post. You kinda just need the space free. When he and Embiid are together he brings his man to Embiid making help defence way easier. A good X and Os guy could use him better than his previous coaches. Doc and Brown suck.

agree that Doc sucks but scheming around a complete non-shooter of a guard is no cup of tea

shooting jumpers is the hardest, most important skill in the sport.

well that's the thing. He's not a guard. He's some kind of funky hybrid that does a bunch of stuff an elite level but is tragic at some other stuff. Can't use him like a traditional guard. I don't know what the answer is really, but he's a guy a smart team rolls the dice on...
 
If he just starts taking some of those shots he’s going to make the acquiring team look really smart. Either that or his work ethic is shit and he’ll be out of the league at the end of his deal.
