I don't know if that's entirely true in Masai's case. Masai and Ed's relationship went sideways before the big contract extension and got worse during contract negotiations.

I'm sure Masai making a bag made the decision even easier for Ed, but he's been wanting rid of Masai for a long time. Also, and crucially, fuck giving a Trumper the benefit of the doubt on racism as well.

Shanny was def performance based. What are we talking about here? This guy did fuck all the last few years. Got caved in contract negotiations from the start.

To this day I believe we would’ve been better off with Lou at the helm. Instead we got a bunch of entitled cunts.

Lou should have handled at least the tough negotiations

Duby wasted too much draft capital at the deadlines on spare parts

Not saying Shanny didn’t deserve it. But Rogers fired him (and Massai) because they think Pelley can do the job for a fraction of the cost. They were paying those guys $25-30 mill a year combined and what does Pelley make? $2-3?
 
The president role is an odd one really. Feels like the president is meant to the the "business person" and the GM is meant to be the sports person. At some point they've become a little conflated I think.

Pelley was making more working in golf overseas

Probably makes 6-10 mil now
 
I think roles generally keep expanding, except there's nowhere for the president's role to expand into, while the GM's role keeps expanding into his - so really, it kinda makes sense to eventually just ditch the president and let the GM take over every once in a while.
 
I will always say the guy had a moral obligation to run it back. Sign a 1 year deal even. Don't bust up the championship team.
