OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

That’s a silly statement. The manager doesn’t know in advance which RP will be good and which will give up runs.

They’re something like 9-6 in one run games. The bullpen has been taxed, partly because the starting pitching has been a gong show, but they’ve been very good overall.

He should lnow Font is bad and bunting is bad

I think all of the trades are decent, but its kind of funny that in an attempt to bolster the pitching, Atkins went out and got the guy that leads the league in BB (Ray) and the guy that leads the league in HR allowed (Stripling).

I think it demonstrates that they don't take themselves too seriously as contenders, but they feel they need to do something since they're in a playoff position. Probably the right call, honestly.

Perhaps they didn’t want to pay a big price with where the organization is at this point so they got a couple pitchers with good past seasons but having off years now. Hopefully we can help them make some adjustments and get them to where they were in previous years.

nah

they think the price was low and they can fix them

No doubt. But that, and not wanting to give up significant assets because of where they see themselves in the competitive cycle, are not mutually exclusive.

fair

mostly responding to the "they feel they need to do something since they're in a playoff position " part specifically

Villar and Ray active
Vogelbach, Drury, Gaviglio DFA
Waguespack and Kirk to taxi

Guessing SRF goes for Stripling, Font for Giles and Panik for Bichette

Kirk is an interesting addition. I wonder if they're actually contemplating bringing him up, or if they just want to give him some exposure to catching MLB bullpens, etc.
