OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Axl was right about shatkins all along
So the wild thing about Shatkins

All four of Scherzer, Gimenez, Santander and Hoffman have to be given failing grades or incomplete in terms of acquisitions thus far.

We are good because of

Springer and Kirk finding themselves,
Barger emerging,
Eric Lauer being a really weird godesend,
2 LHRP coming the fuck out of nowhere,
Vlad and Bo being mostly good,
Ernie CLement turning into a.....checks notes 5ish Win player
Legit contributions from guys like Straw, Lukes, and Clase
The SP being mostly good

I have no idea how much of this goes towards crediting Shatkins exactly, but i will add this. Alot of guys on the farm are boosting their value.

Arjun Nimmalla
Trey Yesavage
Khal Stephen
Gage Stanifer
Yohendrick Pinango
RJ Schreck
Kendry Rojas
Johnny King
Victor Arias

All are really impressing at various levels of the minors

Any of those youngsters ready to make the jump soon?
Yesavage next year, perhaps later this year but that would be really aggressive. Schreck is probably ready but late bloomer. Orelvis could also come up but I suspect he's traded for a SP at the deadline. The other guys on that list are still pretty young.

They should trade any and all of them to upgrade the team. Fuck prospects.

What happened to Tiedeman? Same as Pearson? Toast?

I can squint and see Yesavage, but probably not.

I left Orelvis off the list cause he's just been okay, and frankly im not sure he's better than Schneider as a RHH off the bench, which is where our offensive upgrade is probably needed.

Pinango, Rojas and Schreck maybe next year

There are some that think Johnny King is the best P prospect in the org

don't know that either is untouchable tbh.
Nimmala's upside is a 30+ home run SS with a solid hit tool and close to elite defense. Untouchable.

I guess you could quibble about Yesavage, but he's not that far away from joining the rotation, and with a couple of SP contracts up after this year, seems like a tough guy to move at the deadline.

This should be a big time confidence booster and momentum swing. Schooling the Yanks in every way to sweep them should be a building moment where the team realizes it's as good or better, and that this should be the standard they strive for every time they meet.

Nimmala is a great prospect, but he’s a 19 year old SS in the middle of a terrible cold streak in A-ball. All the skills are there but he’s far from a sure thing.

Yesavage looks great too but again , he’s a pitching prospect, odds are naturally against him.

You don’t trade guys like this for bullpen upgrades but you have to be willing to move them for the right piece.

We have enough interesting prospects that we don't need to move those guys. Obviously it all depends on what you're getting in return, but we're probably not trading for Paul Skenes here.

Yesavage has lots of issues - no truly great pitches, questionable 3rd/4th pitches, and command issues.

Good not great prospect imo.

Nimmala and Tiedemann for me are the two with special upside, but so, so much risk.

Alright, I'll rescind the "untouchable" tag on Yesavage. I don't think we should trade him, but for a piece we really, really want, one of him/Tiedemann can go. Tieds upside is probably higher but the dude just cannot stay healthy. Because of that he's probably a RP in the long run. But give him every opportunity as a starter first, obviously.

Could probably get something really nice for an Orelvis + King/Stephen + lower ranked guy package.
