not guaranteed but around 90% yes due to goal difference.

Right now, we are + 6 and Bosnia is -3. If we were to lose and Bosnia win the next game, which is plausible, as long as we only lost by say 2, we would be +4, they would have to win by 8 goals to jump us.

Right now, we are also +5 in goals for which is the 2nd tiebreaker so if we score even 1-2 goals, it is very unlikely we don't get the guaranteed sot in 2nd place . Our goal difference also likely gets us through as a best 3rd place team.

If we park bus and tie Switzerland, we finish 1st in group by goal difference and get possibly the next two games at home
 
The Swiss are less error prone than us. Our weak links seem to get exposed, whereas they seemed steadier. We have a somewhat more athletic team. Fairly even match up.

(But our goal was spectacular 🙂)

Their backs, especially number 5 and Rodriguez were animals today and Xhaka and Vargas are top notch.

They’ve been solid for a while now. Players are mostly based in the Bundesliga, with a dusting in Serie A, the Prem and Ligue Un. Solid pros.

But, like us, the team is heavily source through immigration.

Italy just can't score.

They used to be able to defend at an elite level and not score but now even their defense is faltering.

I blame the salami.
