OT: World Politics

A lot of countries finally realizing that all the sacrifices you need to make to keep the US happy just aren't worth it. Maybe it was before, but they've been an unreliable partner for a long time now, since at least the rise of Trump more than 10 years ago. And given the current state of that country, there's no reason to believe they won't elect another Trump when he goes soon after. The world is a big place and there are a lot more options now. Let the US devolve into AI Russia and seek better partnerships.
 
This has Vinci SA fingerprints all over it. One of the largest “concessions” (aka parking lots) and infrastructure operators in the world. They also are in the energy game.

One guess as to where their HQ is located.

You know, I'm okay with crony corporate lobbying working out when the end result is avoid climate catastrophe.

It would be really nice if more douchebag corporations used the same tools to fix the planet and society that they've been using to wreck it for the last 40-50 years.
