OT: World Politics

You know, I'm okay with crony corporate lobbying working out when the end result is avoid climate catastrophe.

It would be really nice if more douchebag corporations used the same tools to fix the planet and society that they've been using to wreck it for the last 40-50 years.

Yup. But profitability within reasonable bounds.

what an amazing job spending 3 decades convincing the world you're a political genius, then making one of the stupidest decisions of all time and doubling down on it repeatedly until the economy is destroyed and most young men in the country are dead.

#StableGenius

I'm obviously biased, and I don't care that I'm biased because fuck that guy and the system that allowed for him to commit attrocities on a scale we haven't seen since the 2nd world war.

But with that said....

I don't know how "Russia" survives this. They've had a problem with breakaway republics and regions in the past. Losing a war to one of those is going to accelerate the independence movements that exist all over the country. How does a bankrupt Muscovy hold on to territories ~1500km away by force? All it would take is the Urals popping off at the same time as Chechnya or Khabibestan and it would be a wrap. The Urals going independent would cut the country in half, and I have no doubt the Chinese would be happy to welcome a siberian autonomous region with open arms.
