OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

Issy wins by leg kicking ffs.

This performance really knocked off the shine and kind of made calling out Yoel look silly and pointless. You called out Yoel and then danced and leg kicked?

Romero=Gauthier. Guy has a beast body and fights like that?

Miserable spectacle. Just wade in like your predecessor, Joe Frazier and Ken Norton and smoke the guy.

Seemed like a fixed fight to me.

No aggression from a guy walking in with a gorilla body. He sure wouldn't last long with the Leafs.

He's 42 and has always been a weird fighter who lulls you to sleep and them murders you in a scramble. He just can't scramble as long or as often as he used to, he gasses out.

Izzy fought "the right" fight against him. Smash the legs and avoid the fuck out of any exchange. It's just a bitch move for Izzy after he called Romero out and waxed poetic about how his legacy as a champion demanded that he fight the beast everyone is afraid of, etc. I think he entered this fight intending on being a bit more aggressive and being in the pocket more, then almost got sent to the fucking phantom zone in the first minute and decided to just slap fight and out point Romero from there on in.

The fight sucked, but when you have two fighters whose game plan is to be counter-fighters and neither one is willing to throw that plan out of the window, that's the type of fight you get. It sucked, but c'est la vie.

I don't blame Adesanya one bit for how he fought. If he's in a straight kickboxing match, nobody in the UFC's middleweight division can touch him. But if there's the threat of a takedown, as there was in the Gastlelum fight, he's hitable. I also wouldn't blame him if he looked at Robert Whitaker, who went 10 full rounds with Romero & probably took a career-altering beating in the second fight (a fight he should have lost, but somehow didn't thanks to incompetent judges), and didn't feel like testing out how tough he really is.

This week's fight night card is superb for a free card. I don't think Lee - Oliveira is going to last long as I think Kevin Lee will make minced meat out of him, but it should be fun while it lasts. Maia-Burns would be fun if it was a BJJ tournament, but I think Burns will beat him up standing. Moicano has a tune-up fight, and if he ends up losing this, he was probably all-hype. Walker-Krylov is a KO waiting to happen. I mean, most of the card is super interesting. Can't wait.
