Out of Town Scoreboard

Wow, what a send off for Ryan Smyth, and Vancouver showed class by coming out onto the ice to shake his hand, nice gesture. Have to admit I'm a bit choked up watching his sendoff.

Elliotte Friedman
DET leads STL 2-0 after 2. If Blues fail to come back, COL wins Central and plays MIN.

Who saw that coming?

So the Blues have now lost 6 in a row in regulation, including getting shut out twice....but nobody will really give a ****, of course.

The Blues have a great defense and very good depth, but they are missing the impact forwards that the other contenders all have.

Eric Stephens
It's floating out there but word is Teemu Selanne will indeed wear the "C" for the Ducks tonight against Colorado.

Not sure why they went out and "upgraded in net" while not really bothering to get an impact forward at the trading deadline.

Similiar to what the Calgary Flames (led by Ignila) did for Trevor Linden's last game. A number of the players/personnel are on friendly terms on the various teams (from playing for Team Canada/staff for that team).

Am I the only one who likes Tanner Glass as a depth forward? Decent size, decent skater, kills penalties, can play a bit of hockey, hits everything that moves, and can fight. That's the type of 4th liner that good teams have.

I'm with you 100%.

I'm guessing you just watched him bust up Neil's face?

Yeah, the post was spurred by watching him beat pug fugly in that fight, but it's something I've mentioned on the board before, with Glass being a UFA this summer, he's the type of tough stabilizing veteran presence that we could use on the 4th line.
