Playoff GDT: Round 2, Game 4 Canes @ Flyers 5/9 6:00

I was watching some post game tonight and I am constantly amazed at how if Florida was in the playoffs, we’d not have a chance. Anyone else hearing this or is it just me being hyper sensitive?? The panthers were a nonfactor for half the season yet TNT still finds a way to insert them into Carolina’s sweep of the Flyers.
Nothing generates content quite like rumors and speculation, and boy, is this some sweet, sweet speculation right now. A few weeks ago, Lebatard was yapping about how if the Canes win the Cup this year it will need an asterisk because they didn't have to play the Panthers. Well, the Panthers didn't have to play the 2002 Red Wings to win their Cups, so I guess we need to slap an asterisk on their Cups now?

I got home and turned it on just when OT started. It was already the AVs feed so I couldn't reverse to the beginning until today's recorded version came out.The good thing was it looked to me like the Canes were the better team and basically dominated and pulled out the W with the SEB line. That line needs a nickname. What will it be?

Can we finally stop the whining about a search for a 2C? Stankoven may not be big, but he stands tall. And the speed with which that line maneuvers is truly impressive. They're operating on a faster clock - like that housefly that can see the swat coming no matter how fast you swing. And for what it's worth, while the Aho line didn't score much, they did a fine job defensively.

Stank’a goal was a perfect example of how speed kills. He best his man down the slot and was in a perfect position to receive Hall’s pass.

He can spend the summer, whenever it starts, on improving in the faceoff circle. That’s his biggest weakness.

Love the way TNT/ESPN cut the broadcast in
OT to go to the Wild/Avs game. Had to do some serious work to find the actual feed on Hulu when they switched.
You must have been watching the TruTV feed. The game was airing on both TNT and TruTV and when the COL-MIN game started they told people to turn to TruTV to watch, as the CAR-PHI game continued on TNT. Pretty standard stuff IMHO.

I know where you’re coming from in the props for Stanky and I agree but the Canes are built differently in terms of fans or media trying to label lines in terms of rank and file…many teams I think you can do that but I’m not sure Aho’s line was anywhere close to the 1 line and at times I bet Rod would say the Jordo line is his number one line when you see the importance of the work they do and honestly Stank’s line has been the top line or number one line all playoffs long. Hell, they have KK…a one time “said to be 2C” as a healthy scratch for 8 games and counting…

I know we get spoiled with this team at times but one of their best attributes is the depth…it’s probably more of a just four line solid team over a first line, second line, third line structure.
