Round 2: Habs-Lightning General Discussion Thread

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

If I'm a betting man I would say that they'll go with pateryn

They surprised us by going with Tokarski last year instead of Budaj, because they were looking ahead to this year. So i'm guessing they will do the same and throw Pateryn in there.

They threw Tinordi in the mix 2 years ago in the playoffs (and he surprisingly did well), so I wouldn't be too worried about Pateryn. Plus he's faster than Gonchar.

Likes to throw out some heavy hits as well

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

The fact it's 3-0 also gives Therrien some leaway to play the less experienced guy and see what happens.

If he struggles and we lose you can turn to a veteran in game 5

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

No issues with the hit....but EK looked a bit slow in the 3rd and flat footed on the OT goal.

Looks like he pretty much wore himself out throwing a few hits earlier in the game.

Difference between PK and EK is stamina and strength...one has it and the other doesn't.

One is built like a tank... the other is not. Have not seen PK cartwheel someone in a while. Guess they are trying to play smart hockey

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Yep. Just like Subban's defense vs Stone.

What helped Subbanavoid suspension was that he wasn't even looking at Stone when he swung his stick.....we seen dmen do that in every game...it's a way to let forwards know that they are there and not to get too close to their goalie. It's not meant to hurt.....but PK just happened to aim (by luck) at the space between the glove and wrist protector. Even if he wanted to do it on purpose he probably couldn't repeat it.

If he would have looked at Stone and swung at him, it would look very premeditated

Agreed. Perfectly clean.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

I'm shocked Stone can even pull up his own diaper with that broken wrist and all...

Microfracture has been the big joke term of the Hockey world. Shame the Sens had to make doorknobs of themselves

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Oh yeah, Stone is such a beast for playing through the pain of that wee little bruise...how does he do it?

The "surprise" would have been playing Gonchar tomorrow instead of 64, given that GP played a lot down the stretch and Gonchar barely played. The West Coast trip sealed the old man's fate. He can't keep up.

Someone joked yesterday that the stanchion at CTC that the winning goal bounced off first suffered a microfracture. I liked that one.

??? It's a respectful compliment, that Gallagher has earned. I hate the little prick, but he's had a good series.

Ridiculous interpretation.

what you talk about when you're down 0-3, is what you should and could be doing better to win. You don't succumb to what's hard about winning and sweet talk the guy that's eating your lunch. That's loser talk.
