Round 2: Habs-Lightning General Discussion Thread

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Just wondering how people are perceiving JDR in this series.

I think the kid has a future in the NHL but at the moment he's so focused on his defense and nit making mistakes that there's very little coming from him on the offensive side of the puck.

Eller has legs and jump to his game and I think it's too bad that there doesnt seem to be much offense being generated by that line.

yep. dlr is very quick to back check in the opposing zone. he needs to think offence a bit more during certain stages of the game.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

I think some of you are going to remain disappointed if you're ever expecting offense from JDLR.

JDLR is what he is, a very responsible player who is mature & knowledgeable beyond his years when it comes to the defensive aspect of hockey, but when it comes to scoring goals, he doesn't have "it".

If he can get a 30 point season, I would be ecstatic.

JDLR is a invisible these playoffs and honestly, it's normal if you ask me. These are his first playoffs in North America and it's a huge adjustment, it's completely different from anything he's ever played before.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

you dish out injuries with vicious cheapshots, the hockey gods are going to dish them back to you.

Ottawa has no hockey gods lol. They are lucky to have a team. If my team was down 3-1 and facing eliminating i hardly doubt i would be cocky on any board lol. But you are kinda simple so its fine i guess.

nobody is disagreeing with the above but he's currently extra cautious in the off zone, abandoning plays he shouldn't

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

The young player of concern should be Galchenyuk not DLR. Chucky does everything possible to avoid contact, he's become a perimeter player like Plekanec.

Yeah, I think down the road he'll be more effcetive offensively but at the moment there's absolutely no offensive instinct to his game. Its 100% defensive comitment

galchenyuk will be better once he puts on some much needed mass to his frame.

I don't think its a lack of desire but more a lack of having the strenght to physically win battles

A player like Plekanec would be sweet.
He did get his 2nd playoff OT goal and same offense of Forsberg, Saad, Monahan, ZIbanejad, 2pts in 4 games.
But do agree he should shoot more and go hard to net for rebound, just like his lil buddy does.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

i think it's hilarious that you clowns are calling real karl a metro or d'artagnan when he's been more of a physical presence than PunK, unless you count tomahawk chops as having "a physical presence".

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Besides the stupidity you write about PK, what are your feelings on tonight's game. Your prediction?

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

go see the game thread. this will be a very tough game for us to win tonight.

but if we do......

Meh, Karlsson threw 2 really nice hit, even though one was a head shot. Other than that he's been pretty meh all around.

I'm usually quite complimentary of Karlsson. His defensive game is bad, but his offence is so great that it makes up for it. This series though, he hasn't even brought the offence. I don't know if he's really created a single goal has he? I know he has a primary assist so maybe he's created one goal.
