Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

why different rules?
and more importantly why is that acceptable and for some reason considered a good thing?

that said Im not concerned about the refs...they will let 10 things go and call one random thing....as they always do

I agree there shouldn't be, as there aren't in other sports, but it seems to be utopic to ask that of the NHL -I can only asume a major contributor is powerful American team ownership led by Ed Snider & Jeremy Jacobs, who's fanbases expect a certain "gong show" atmosphere & playoff referee-ing caters to their needs.

Meh, very few D can handle Lucic/Chara in one on one physical battles. A smart D can use an active stick, body positioning along with a strong 5 man unit...that is the better approach IMO.

Re: The Second Round Thread

Keeping them away from the crease is a lot easier if the puck isnt in our end. Subban can do drive possession. Murray cant..

As for the penalty kill. We havent suffered against any team... including those with big forwards... when murray is out of the lineup. The penalty kill is the least of my concerns.

Yep. Just hope they call that fairly both ways. Just hope they watch the dirty stuff closely.

No one said regular shift against their #1 line - hence tactical management & usage of Murray. He only fits in against their #1 PP & occasionally 5-on-5 - the Habs will likely avg 5-6 PK's per game, Murray should get 5-6min of playing time, and another 5-6min at 5-on-5 for the remainder of the game. I would go so far as to suggest only playing him in the not so friendly confines of Boston.

The Habs will need Murray's size, Bruins gameplan will be to attack the crease. Who exactly on the Habs D has the size & strength to handle any of Lucic, Chara, Iginla? Subban couldn't even contain the diminutive TBay forwards in front of Price.

If thats the case he will have to play more than 5-6 minutes of even strength ice time...

we should dress a bum to pitchfork Chara in the nads on the first power play, but do it really well so he misses, put a sharp instrument at top of black so it sticks right in the sack and he misses a game or two.

Re: The Second Round Thread

Never said Murray was the only problem or the biggest problem.

Doesnt change the fact he was one problem and his lack of speed and inability to get the puck out of his own end was exposed over and over again in that series.

over and over?? talk about being dramatic.. the only game that anyone was exposed was game 2, in which neither fleury or vok could stop a beach ball.,. your hate on is blinding you to what really happened

Re: The Second Round Thread

Watch.the entire.series.again. The pens couldnt get the puck out of their own end when murray was on the ice

It's now official: series starts Thursday night at 7:30 and game 2 is Saturday at 12:30.

I don't have him miss things to watch TV.

Weren't you the one talking about some roller hockey game getting in the way of viewing a game? My son won't miss ice hockey for a TV game and I know mine is more serious about hockey than yours,,,,,

They have to change it too many times, original plan was Friday
now starts Thursday

second match : saturday(12:30pm)
3th: tuesday
4th: thursday

This is not "TV," it's the Habs in the playoffs. I assume Jr. is not swimming in a meet on Saturday? That I could see not missing. Anyway, I was just kidding . . . sort of.
P.S. We should be home in time for the game on Thursday. Plus, I'm the coach of the team and we only have two extra skaters so we can't really miss it.

Saturday is just a nightmare already for me

I have to take my car in for a regular repair at 9

his swimming is at 1130, then he has his eye checkup at 1230, Ann's is at 1:30, then his winter team party is at 3, he is supposed to have a 3 on 3 game at 545 but he will miss that as he has a 5 on 5 practice at 645 across town so he has to miss the game. How do you juggle two?
