Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

Lucic-Krejci-Iginla
Marchand-Bergeron-Smith
Florek-Soderberg-Eriksson
Caron-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Boychuk
Bartowski-Miller
Krug-Hamilton

Are these the Bruins lines we are potentially facing?

Re: The Second Round Thread

Watched on TV though eh? I was there baby. At least for the first two games. Markov was excellent.

He made a bunch of bad plays on D, but Price bailed him out. Most of the time it was him getting beat but it didn't end up costing anything.

A few predictions:

1) One of Chara, Lucic, or Marchand will seriously injure one of our best players, possibly Vanek, just as he's starting to go on a roll. Probably in game 4, probably with the Habs up 2-1 in the series.
1b) There will be no suspension, and it will be a ridiculous non-suspension.
1c) Very few people in the media will disagree, or make a big deal of it.
1d) There will be 1 marginal call in the Habs favor that will help them get a win, and the media will be ALL OVER IT. (Kinda like the supposed "bad call" against Tampa in game 4)
2) The Bruins will continue to take liberties, as the refs won't call anything against them. As the series goes on, they will wear us down.
3) Bruins win in 7. I know... trust me, it hurts me to say it. But the Bruins are a VERY good team. And they are VERY dirty, and they know how to get away with their dirty play. And as I said above, they will wear us down. There may even be a bias that prevents them from taking suspensions. Also, Rask. I really hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

That being said, if any team in the east can beat Boston, it's Montreal. They really do seem to play well against them. A little luck and if the refs are fair and don't let Boston get away with too much, we could easily take this series, maybe even in 6.

I agree with 1 and 2. The Broons are a dirty team and will be crying foul while hitting the Habs with dirty shots. They are a team of Matt Cookes and get away with it time and time again.

Some things that can work in our favor:
1. We have Emelin and Markov healthy
2. Vanek is a Bruins killer
3. Briere is a playoff warrior
4. If Price falters, Budaj plays great against Boston
5. We are finally seeing signs of life from Bourque and Eller
6. Gallagher has rediscovered his scoring touch
7. We are much faster than Boston and our speed will help.
8. Rask has been shown to lose it when things don't go his way.

Yes, this series will be rough, but I think the Habs can do it. We run four decent lines, and have enough sandpaper to tough it out.

Prediction, Habs in 7.

Re: The Second Round Thread

Let's just hope if a player is taken off on a stretcher this series, it is a Bruin player, not Canadien.

Who exactly did the Bruins mame on the Wings? Last I checked Chara & Julien provided a verbal beat down on Lucic for his antics in games 1 & 2 - and he smartened up. Chara berated him on the bench after his stick to the nuts incident.

The story lines make for great TV, but are benign in reality - driven by fear of losing by both sides.

The only thing the Habs have to fear "is fear itself"...

Murray and Tinordi will have to see some action if we're to beat these heathens. I have serious concerns about our bottom D pairing against the Bruins when the traffic gets heavy in front of our net.

I also believe Lucic needs special attention, target practice if you will. He gets dumber when this happens...Emelin for one draws it out of him. Murray can too. You can't let a guy like him go unchallenged imo.

the Bruins are beatable and FWIW, we had a marginally better record in our Div than Boston did.
