Rebuild what? Why are we rebuilding? We have a fantastic, young core in place. We need to add to this group. Trim some off the edges (Raymond, Franson, everything making more than minimum off the 4th line), play some hungry kids in the bottom 2 lines. Get a bit bigger in our depth players, a bit faster, a bit meaner. Add a coach that can get some structure in place, fire Clarkson out of a cannon into the Sun and we're on our way.

Rebuild was probably too strong of a word, retool I think would be a better one. When I say retool, I mean Carlyle needs to be replaced, get rid of a guy like Franson (replace him with a Tim Gleason-esque guy who can play in the top 4), some size/mean-ness on the wings would help (a guy like Chris Stewart comes to mind), and I hope somehow Clarkson and be unburdened from this team but I'm just not sure how Nonis can go about doing that.

For sure. It kinda sucks though as our next game is against the Flyers who are playing really well. Just recently they beat the Blues, Blackhawks, Penguins. I know we can still win majority of our games but it's a tough hill to climb and so we'll probably just miss.
 
They better turn it around quick.

Completely blowing two years in a row would be pretty bad.

Edit: I guess it would really be 3 years in a row.

havnt watched much of the leafs this year but the recent games i have seen he has been brutal defensively and nothing really going offensively

thought this whole time you guys would do what the habs do...lose 3-4 in a row then win 3-4 in a row
but where you were supposed to win....you lost another 3 and counting....no OT points either

i wouldnt either....if it wasnt part of a losing streak when they really needed to get at least a point

and now they have lost all margin for error
 
Questions about Dion are valid. This is not a one game thing. Some crucial games he has been less than average. He should be held to a higher standard since he is captain.
 
Starting Bernier this game was asinine. It's a groin injury. Give him time to heal, Randy. Not even a healthy Bernier was a guaranteed win against this team.
I sure hope Carlyle is gone this summer.
 
Looks like this crowd has developed the 'Blue and White Disease'.

You just knew it wasn't going to work out when Lupul started posing for fashion mags and was so devastated by the Boston series that he was mindful enough to get his sponsors cap on for the cameras within minutes of the implosion.
