aren't we supposed to boycott this tournament and cheer against Canada due to Canada being the only hockey nation with a toxic hockey culture?

Four kids from one of the top 2008 teams in the U.S., Bishop Kearney Selects (they recruit internationally), were tossed off the team two weeks ago for making racist comments on the ice at a game.

I've been boycotting this tournament since it began --- yawnfest. It's like women's soccer --pretty much guaranteed a US/Can final.

I root for Habs prospects to do well. That's it. That's all.

You mean women's hockey.

?? There has been 5 US/Can finals in 55 years.

I boycott the tournament every year, just like I do with the Olympics. Most of the games are snore-fests anyway. All but maybe 2 other countries are competitive enough to make Canada work up a sweat. The rest of the teams are just versions of the Washington Generals.

WJC has lost some luster for me as well, but the high-end games are more entertaining than virtually any regular season game.

Canada - USA is almost always great. Those two are, for all intents & purposes, the two best hockey countries on the planet now and it shows.
