Tech Thread

AI porn simply doesn't have the financial or regulatory hurdles that something like medicine has. The argument isn't that AI porn will make people rich, it's just it will be the first thing we see and it will be plentiful. Like with every time there's a new technology. It's always porn first and porn most. Porn always wins. Life's simple rule.

I mean kinda. But CGI porn has been around forever and it's still just niche.

For me, the problem with all of these potential edge cases is the financialized aspect of it. If you're some sort of a specialist and you dream up an app that can help you, the AI coding of it 1) Isn't going to be free forever, the whole point of burning this VC money is to create a market for it and then financialize the demand, think of Uber. & 2) still requires time to test it, re run iterations, etc. You can go on upwork right now and find a guy in Bangladesh that has been writing python code since he was 12 to write your basic app now for a few hundred bucks and it will work the first time with someone else doing all of the debugging work.

So if you're that specialist, how much are you willing to spend per month on a subscription to access the service that can write your code for you, and how much time are you willing to sink into it? Are those two combined a better or worse use of time and capital than going on upwork/fiverr?
A very very good point.

I just googled CGI porn because I have no idea what the fuck it is and I got this

So yeah I think AI porn can potentially outperform this product one day. Plus it's gonna be cheaper and you can personalize it.

But regardless, CGI eventually led to porn. Which was my main point here (not the level of monetization part). All tech leads to porn.

Never said AI will be porn only. I'm more bullish on AI than most. Porn is just the easiest one to predict. Because it's the only common link to every single new piece of tech.

Ya I'm talking future state. But some people are already making money from creating Twitter accounts and using shitty AI art generators using their sick minds to think of weird niche shit and tweeting them. You have to have the mind for it though, it's gotta be weird and sick and niche enough to be unique (since there's a fuckton of competition right now) and good enough to have some level of demand. Zeke would be great.

but porn isn't at all a driving force for cgi.

zzzactly. CGI is driven by the film and marketing industries. ie/ people who pay money to make things to make more money.

There is an industry in there, and importantly, the build out of CGI to meet the needs of those industries didn't cost trillions of dollars.

Search clearly guided by AI with insight into your browser history.
