The Fucking Offseason Thread - Why bother waiting?

This team has been pretty great for the majority of the last 5yrs.

yet most Leaf fans I know are miserable when the topic comes up.... so again kudos to you for keeping your perspective

Free Agency can address that.

Playoff team with ease in the Pacific

Dougie Hamilton fixes many things

For sure. They'll have a fuckton of cap space to work with, and plenty of trade chips. I was moreso thinking about Justin Holl, and how appealing he'd have looked if those are the best RHD's on offer in the expansion draft.

They could take that team and sign Dougie, Landeskog, and Danault/Krejci still.

Assuming that they take the roster previously mentioned and have 28 million

- Sign Dougie 9mx7
- Sign Ryan Suter 5mx2
- Sign Nikita Gusev 2mx1
- Sign Danault 5x5
- Sign Tatar 3.5x3

JVR-Gourde-Gusev
Tatar-Danault-Zucker
Kerfoot-Jarnkrok-Donskoi
Donato-Appleton-Blackwell

Gio-Dougie
Dunn-Suter
Zadorov/Whoever-Stetcher

Driedger
Kaapa/Vanacek

Lacks in star power up front, but all 3 lines are competent offensively and there's probably a really nice PP1 in there to be found as well. The 2nd and 3rd lines are both shut down type lines that would be hard to score against.

Dougie & Suter would turn this into a very good top 4. Driedger might be a stud...we'll see

That team could win the west.....ffs

and it would have a lot of space left...5+ million anyway.

one thing that distinguishes vegas from that seattle roster is age.

vegas landed a bunch of fast skaters who were all under 30. all the top guys seattle is expected to take are 30 or older this year.

Possibly. I feel like someone else might be the sacrificial lamb (Lilly).

Still also think we'd be kinda dumb not to trade Muzz right now.
