#3 23.84 hits/60
#8 16.03 hits/60

maybe all these guys who everyone said were clearly not soft when they played elsewhere haven't actually suddenly turned soft here.

oh shit hits, you got me there, never mind the Leafs are a top 10 tough and aggressive team and obviously it's the referees at fault. my bad.

If we do end up ditching Kampf's caphit, and ever get healthy (i.e. Woll and Tanev in, Hildeby and Mermis out), then we'll be sitting with $4.2m in capsapce with a full roster.

But that includes Jarnkrok in the pressbox. Jarnkrok's bonus is paid so all he's owed is league-minimum $775k salary, which wouldn't be hard for many teams to take.

So without touching our starting lineup, we could (should) have $6.3m in capspace with a 22 man roster (1 extra forward 1 extra dman).

And then when looking at trades, you can add the caphit of whichever starting player is getting replaced on top of that $6.3m to get the full available caphit we can add in trade.

Will improve future iterations, but yeah, this'll do for now.

How many Brandon Carlos and Scott Laughtons does that get us at the deadline?

Stolarz playing like a fucking hay bail. Good opportunity for Woll to come back and challenge for #1. Assuming this is a blip I still expect Stolarz to be the #1 in the playoffs. Woll is a bit of a playoff muffin man.

I still think if Stolarz doesn't get "injured" (targeted headshot with intent to injure) in the FLA series the Leafs win the Cup.

"Koho (Don Koharski), I knew him, he lived in the Burlington/Oakville area. You get to know the referees, and what you can get away with and what you can't get away with.
I think we were winning 6-2, and (I get a minor penalty), and I said to Koho, "Don't give me two. I need 10." And he goes, "You're kidding me, right?"
And I say, "No, you fucking asshole." And he said, "I'm not giving you 10." And I said, "Koho, you're a fucking asshole. Give me 10. I need 10 minutes." He goes, "Really?" And I said, "Yeah."
So he said, "OK, 10 minutes." And I said, "Thanks." (laughs) And I went off the ice and back to the dressing room, and started laughing.
So (Flames head coach Terry Crisp) is trying to figure out why I got kicked out, because I hadn't told anybody. And he goes, "You wanna tell me what that was all about?" And I go, "Well, it was a bet." And he says, "What the fuck are you talking about?"
I go, "Well, I asked Koho to give me 10 minutes. I didn't want two minutes, I needed 10 minutes. And there was only two minutes left in the game. And I just won a case of beer because I beat Gary Roberts in penalty minutes." And he says, "OK. That's good." And he starts laughing.

what I'm worried about is mbow's suggestion -- we end up doing something dumb like trading for Breadman's golden years
Trades arent going to fix this. You need to accept the reality that your window is closed and start getting the roster to build draft and prospect capital. Matthews and Nylander are great players but it's a waste to hang on to them at this point.

wondering if Stolarz is over the conky from the playoffs. He's playing like poop so far

I thought I saw a Bruin give him a knee or thigh in the head again last night.

I didn't see a replay of it though so I'm not sure. It looked like he took a pretty good bump, didn't seem to bother him at the time though.

Woll better get back soon I think.

Feels like classic post contract extension "gotta earn the dollars" play. As soon as he starting calling out his teammates in the media I thought - Uh oh.
