can't blame Stolarz for a bottom 5 xgf%

you're right....plenty of blame to go around. The same Mirtle article claims that all the stars forwards have been shit defensively, except for Tavares.

In his pie chart of blame, Berube and Tre get 55% of the slices

The inquiry has now shifted from Robbie to Cowan, but yes, there must always be at least one young guy who could contribute but is instead shafted for an indefinitely period until the shafting is deemed sufficient.

Pretty weird feeling right now. Throughout the MLB playoffs and ever since the World Series ended, I just haven't been able to persuade myself to give a single shit about this team or sit down and spend my free time watching them play.

I've maybe seen 10-15 minutes of Leaf game action in total in that time. The last time I was this apathetic about the team or less interested in spending my free time watching them was probably during the dying days of the Randy Carlyle era.

You know what? That Blue Jays run has hurt the Leafs. I thought interest would return once WS ended, but it's really tough sitting through these games. We are year 10 with Matthews and Nylander and this team is worse than ever. We had 9 straight years of playoffs to do something and have nothing to show for it. So discouraging.
This organization also keeps doing things that only hurt the team.

Ex-Leafs enforcer blasts Auston Matthews for his early season slump: "A guy that's collecting a paycheck right now"

Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi ripped into captain Auston Matthews amid the team's sluggish 8-7-1 start, branding the superstar "a guy that's just collecting a paycheck right now" on a recent podcast appearance. Domi, known for his tough-guy tenure in the 1990s and early 2000s, didn't mince words over Matthews' early-season slump, managing just 14 points in 16 games without longtime linemate Mitch Marner, who was traded in the offseason. The scathing critique comes as Toronto sits second-last in the Atlantic Division, with Matthews' production dipping far below his 69-goal explosion in 2023-24 and 78 points in an injury-shortened last year. Leafs insiders Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne echoed concerns on their show, pinning blame on the captain's lack of form. As Matthews nears Mats Sundin's franchise goal record, Domi's blast amplifies pressure on the $13.25M man to awaken.
