I think you're misunderstanding. I've never become distraught over it. I just feel that applauding to a movie is the same as applauding to a CD or a TV show. Applause is a way of telling a performer or artist that they did a good job, if the artist isn't there then there's no one to applaud to.

I saw this already.. it was called the Untouchables, and it didn't need a Jay Z song in the track , and a bad nose prosthetic on Al capone.
Using that rationale they shouldn't have made "The Untouchables" because there had already been a tv series.....or De Palma shouldn't have made Scarface, Sergio Leone shouldn't have made "A Fistful of Dollars", or Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" wouldn't have become "The Magnificent Seven"
Plenty of fantastic movies thoughout the years are a remake/redo of something that's come before it.
