Applause has been with us all through history....many times done for people that have made sacrifices and who are being honoured at feasts, public gatherings, etc. etc. They are no longer living, so why bother? They can't hear it, right? Applause has always been more than just a reaction to a live performance. It is simply a way for a group of people to show appreciation.

I saw this already.. it was called the Untouchables, and it didn't need a Jay Z song in the track , and a bad nose prosthetic on Al capone. (egad, what's with the token black guy in the squad, at least in the untouchables it was Andy Garcia playing a wop to add some diversity to the crew)

Using that rationale they shouldn't have made "The Untouchables" because there had already been a tv series.....or De Palma shouldn't have made Scarface, Sergio Leone shouldn't have made "A Fistful of Dollars", or Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" wouldn't have become "The Magnificent Seven"

Plenty of fantastic movies thoughout the years are a remake/redo of something that's come before it.

Plenty of duds too........but speaking of remakes...one of my favourites has to be Friedkin's Sorceror....so I am plenty pumped to see what he does with Killer Joe - NC-17 rating??? What?????

Totally different... this isn't a remake or a redo. It is the same story, same premise/concept, roughly same era, yet with a few different names and gangsters.

This is like some one making a samurai movie with a few different samurai and calling it "Samurai Warriors"
Depalma's was a different era, different type of gangster.

Not the same... this looks ridiculously the same.

The Untouchables was from ****ing twenty five years ago. A remake isn't unusual after that much time.

But it isn't a remake.. I can get if your doing another untouchables with younger hipper actors, but this isn't what this is, it is supposedly a "new" story. If your going to do a reboot or a remake, just say it is.

The original isn't even that good out of Connery's performance. Might as well do it well for a new generation.
