Avengers was fun, like both Iron Man movies were fun.
Was a decent fanboy movie, but never really felt like the earth was in danger.
Flying fish that run into buildings, really?
Agreed with you on the threat posed by the aliens. I had no clue who they were and didn't understand why we should feel threatened by them?
The rest of the movie was very good but the villains were lame as hell IMO.
I'm actually surprised that the film has done as financially well as it has. I never heard the casual film-goer or comic book person really ever mention them.
It was always X-Men, Batman, and Spider-Man.
The "alien army" was lame, Loki (Hiddleston) was great.
Without Downey Jr and Hiddleston, this movie would have been better on paper.
they'll keep putting stupid movies out if you guys keep watchin em.

i expect more from you.
I think the "nerds" understood the aliens more than the average movie-goer. I mean did anyone here recognize the blue dude at the end of the film? I didn't. But my super-nerd friend did.
Agreed on all fronts really....but that was the strength of the Avengers lineup obviously...Downey absolutley murders it as Stark at all times.
I think the point of that army was nothing more than an excuse to introduce Thanos....who could be an absolutely sick lead villain as the series progresses.
I don't think the earth being in 'danger' was ever supposed to be the main catalyst in the movie, but instead the death of Agent Coulson, who was a very likeable character across most of the lead up Marvel movies. As well as Stark's near death experience (one of many in the Marvel story arc) to show that he's willing to make the sacrifices that Cap accuses him of being unable to (remembering of course that Stark goes from debauched alcholic to leader of the Avengers over a period of years in the comic story arc)
