Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

Word on the street is that Weber's contract is not pleasing too many there now in Nashville.

Plus he is a give-away machine every time I watch him play. :sarcasm

They could probably get a lot more for him than Hamilton and some mediocre top six young forward from the bruins. A lot.

With Laviolette there now, no way the Preds deal Weber IMO, my hunch is they'll go on a shopping spree this summer trying to buy offense, to support Laviolette's wide open offensive system.

Elliot Friedman was suggesting that Peter L wants Nashville to get Lecavalier.

How lucky are the Flyers if true?

You had a chat with David Poile? I doubt they would "jump all over it."

I'm going on the assumption that he has a NTC....so he decides where he goes....

If he doesn't have a NTC, then yes, Poile can get a better deal....

However, Hamilton+Bergeron would be a pretty damn good offer

Weber does NOT have a NTC or NMC. However, he gets $14M next 2-seasons and $12M the 2-after, then $6M. The rumors I assume stem from those who believe Preds can't/won't pay the next 4-seasons, mainly driven by a huge bonus payments due in July.

Boston would be crazy to do that. Bergeron will be their captain for a decade after Chara goes.

Was just responding to the post that said Preds wouldn't deal Weber for Hamilton+top 6 forward

Hopefully for Bergeron he can stay healthy.....

So... I live in Toronto, you know home of the Jays, Raps, Leafs...etc. Plenty of local sports to talk about on the Fan 590 sports station. Anyway this morning I turn on the radio to listen to the Jeff Blair show, first thing he wants to talk about is Subban. Then at lunch, driving to Quiznos , Tim and Sid are talking about PK. After work I am driving to the gym, McCown and Glen Healy are blabbing about Subban. I come home after the gym , Jays post game show is wrapping up, the next host dude wants to take about Subban first thing.

Just unreal, you would think we have the next Gretzky in the making or something.

he's got the superstar thing down pat right now...Like it's all coming together.

He's handling himself in the press with a mature poise of a winner. It's great to see.

Habs: Game-by-game scoring-chance numbers versus Boston

Players must be directly involved in the production of a scoring-chance in order to be credited.

As a team, the Habs were able to produce more even-strength scoring-chances per-minute played during the third game of the season than they were in either of the first two games.

Thomas Vanek was involved in the production of more even-strength scoring-chances per-minute than any other Habs player; this after producing zero chances in game 2. Vanek was also the only forward to produce more scoring-chances per-minute during game 3 than they averaged during the first round of the playoffs.

PK Subban and Andrei Markov also helped produce more ES scoring-chances in game 3 than they averaged during the Tampa Bay series.

clearly as a team, Habs produced more ES scoring chances in game 3 against Boston, than in the previous 2 games in Beantown.

and it showed...

Cpt Obvious says: it's very rare to see good players consistently embrace the limelight & pressure situations in providing elite performances, Subban has had a history of stepping up, from WJC, his rookie inauguration in the playoffs....

As one Reggie Jackson used to say "I didn't come to NYC to be a star, I brought my star with me".

On a side note, Reggie's best one liners IMO - which applies in this situation too;

-"the only difference between me and those great Yankees is my skin color"

-"Fans don't boo nobodies"

We have Subban and Price who are heading the way of elite at their positions.

Now only if we can get that forward
