When's the last time we outshot the opposition?
What are the odds of winning a lot of games when the opponent more than doubles your shots against?
Sure, we lost this game, but the effort was much better. We were not going to go anywhere with a consistent 40+ shots against game after game.

unless we suddenly start sucking at special teams, or bernier suddenly turns into an .800sv% goalie, there's not much to be upset about in this one.
 
So are we results or effort/systems focused? We did a lot right tonight and mostly lost due to shit goaltending.
 
The bar is low. Very low.

Funny stuff .... special teams. Leafs and Caps were 0/2 on the pp. How did that affect the game other than crapping the bed and giving up a shorty?
 
That game was at best mildly encouraging.

Truth is, you have to give Horachek at least a few weeks to get things moving in a better direction. If they're still putting in a lackluster effort and making many a brainfart come February, time to start shedding the dead weight.
